About this role

BlackRock Global Corporate Communications is looking for a Director, based in New York, to lead strategic communications for the firm’s technology and innovation platform. This includes developing and executing proactive, multi-channel campaigns that drive commercial outcomes for BlackRock’s Aladdin business as well as the firm’s technology and innovation agenda, including thought leadership related to Gen AI, blockchain, and digital assets.

About Corporate Communications

An important part of BlackRock’s Corporate Affairs function, the Global Corporate Communications team leads all internal and external communications that advance our purpose of helping more and more people experience financial well-being. The team is responsible for driving compelling communications and stakeholder engagement strategies that enhance our culture, drive growth, strengthen our reputation, and build our brand.

Responsibilities:                                                            

  • Partner closely with senior executives, business leaders, marketing, public policy, and members of the Corporate Communications team to develop proactive, multi-channel communications campaigns that drive growth in one of the firm’s biggest priorities – technology and innovation.
  • Provide counsel to business leaders and other internal partners to ensure an integrated and aligned strategy for increasing understanding of the Aladdin platform and its capabilities.
  • Manage a global team of communications professionals focused on driving understanding of our technology business and further positioning the firm as a leader in financial technology and innovation.  
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with top-tier business/financial and technology media and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of communications experience in the financial services, financial technology, and/or technology industries.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the asset management industry, financial technology, blockchain, and digital assets.
  • Experience engaging with senior executives; navigating complex, global organizations; and fostering collaborative decision-making among senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage a team and develop talent.
  • Exceptional media relations capabilities and the ability to translate complex topics to simple, compelling narratives.
  • Track record of developing strategic, impactful communications plans across earned, owned, and paid that align with business priorities.  
  • Ability to multitask and operate with flexibility in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.


 

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$194,000.00 - USD$270,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
