What we value
  • Strong communication skills in an open environment.

  • The ability to work independently and make informed decisions with minimal supervision.

  • Interest in working in a dynamic environment with dynamic objectives.

  • A commitment to autonomy, ownership, and delivering high-quality solutions.

  • Openness to giving and receiving constructive feedback.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Director of Talent Acquisition to build and scale our recruiting function from the ground up. You’ll start as a hands-on individual contributor, owning full-cycle hiring across teams, and grow into a leadership role as the company scales. This is a unique opportunity for someone who has successfully built a recruiting function 0→1 in a startup environment and is excited to do it again—with the autonomy to shape strategy, process, and team structure.

As our first dedicated talent hire, you’ll partner directly with founders and department leaders to define our hiring strategy, source top-tier talent, and lay the foundation for a high-performing, values-driven team.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition (Primary Focus to Start)

  • Build and lead our end-to-end recruiting function—starting as an IC and evolving into a team leadership role.

  • Own full-cycle recruitment across all departments, with an initial focus on GTM roles.

  • Partner with hiring managers and leadership to scope roles, write job descriptions, and define hiring success.

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to build strong pipelines of high-quality candidates.

  • Design and continuously refine our recruiting processes to ensure a top-notch candidate experience.

  • Track and report on key hiring metrics, using data to drive decision-making and improve performance.

  • Collaborate on employer branding efforts to position the company as a destination for top talent.

People Operations & Future Leadership

  • Lay the groundwork for scalable people processes (onboarding, performance reviews, compensation planning, etc.).

  • Partner with leadership on headcount planning and organizational design as the company grows.

  • Foster a strong, inclusive, and values-aligned culture through thoughtful candidate and employee experiences.

  • Grow and manage a recruiting and people operations team over time, providing mentorship and structure as needed.

About You
  • 7+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with 3+ years spent in early-stage startups.

  • Proven success building a recruiting function from scratch (0→1), ideally as the first talent hire.

  • Deep expertise in sourcing and hiring for GTM roles, with the ability to context-switch across functions.

  • Strategic thinker with a builder mindset—excited to create systems, processes, and best practices from the ground up.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; you're a true partner to leadership.

  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruiting tools.

  • Strong understanding of recruiting metrics and how to leverage them for continuous improvement.

  • Passion for creating exceptional candidate and employee experiences.

  • Experience managing or mentoring others—or a clear desire to grow into a leadership role.

  • Located in the Eastern Time Zone .

What we offer:
  • Remote-first work style: Anywhere in EST time zone US or Canada.

  • Meaningful equity plan, giving you a stake in our growth.

  • Competitive salary to reward your expertise.

  • Private medical care to support your well-being.

  • A new laptop and a work-from-home stipend for necessary accessories.

  • Unlimited PTO and sick leave to prioritize work-life balance.

  • The opportunity to shape our company and disrupt the legal world.
