Summary 

The Director of Talent Acquisition is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy to attract, engage, and retain top talent. This role will lead the recruitment function, ensure an exceptional candidate experience, foster strong relationships with hiring managers, and build a scalable recruiting process aligned with the company’s growth goals and culture. Additionally, this role will oversee compensation analysis for new hires to ensure offers are competitive, equitable, and aligned with internal pay structures.

As a nationwide employer, we operate in multiple states and offer remote and hybrid work options. The Director of Talent Acquisition must be well-versed in multi-state employment laws, compliance requirements, and best practices for remote hiring, ensuring our processes meet legal standards while supporting a diverse, geographically distributed workforce.


Key Responsibilities 

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement a company-wide talent acquisition strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Partner with senior leadership to forecast hiring needs and prioritize recruitment efforts.
  • Build and maintain a strong employer brand that attracts high-quality candidates across all U.S. states.

Team Management & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Talent Acquisition team, providing guidance, training, and professional growth opportunities.
  • Establish performance metrics for recruiters and monitor progress toward hiring goals.

Process, Technology & Compliance

  • Design, refine, and enforce consistent recruiting processes to ensure fairness, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Leverage ATS, sourcing tools, and recruitment analytics to improve hiring efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
  • Conduct compensation analysis for all new hires to ensure market competitiveness, internal equity, and compliance with pay transparency laws.
  • Partner with People/Finance teams to update salary bands and recommend adjustments based on market trends and benchmarking data.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, including those specific to remote and multi-state hiring (e.g., pay transparency, wage and hour laws, background checks, and offer requirements).

Sourcing & Recruitment Execution

  • Oversee recruitment for all functions and levels, from high-volume roles to executive hires.
  • Build strong talent pipelines using proactive sourcing strategies, industry networking, and partnerships.
  • Manage relationships with external recruitment agencies, job boards, and other talent sources.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

  • Integrate DEI best practices into all stages of the recruitment process.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to promote diverse candidate slates and inclusive hiring practices across all states.

Candidate & Hiring Manager Experience

  • Ensure a seamless, positive candidate journey from initial contact through onboarding.
  • Train and support hiring managers in effective interviewing, assessment, and selection practices.

Required Qualifications and Key Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive recruiting experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of scaling recruitment functions in a high-growth, multi-state environment.
  • Experience conducting compensation benchmarking, salary band analysis, and offer package development.
  • Experience managing a team and implementing recruitment technology/tools.
  • Strong understanding of remote work hiring best practices and multi-state employment law compliance.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Data-driven approach to decision-making with strong analytical abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of talent markets, sourcing strategies, compensation best practices, and employment regulations across multiple states.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

New Hire Base Salary Range

  • $175,000-$190,000
  • Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
  • The compensation offered will take into account internal compensation structure and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
