The Role 

SimplePractice is looking for a dynamic, operations-focused Director of Strategic Programs (DSP) to help us ensure the timely and accurate completion of multiple strategic initiatives occurring simultaneously. In this role you will be responsible for providing analytical support, consulting, and cross-functional implementation leadership. 

As the Director of Strategic Programs, you will gain invaluable, hands-on experience in the inner workings of SimplePractice, supported by the expertise of the leading private equity firm, Vista. This role offers a unique vantage point, granting you direct exposure to the strategies and decision-making processes of a high-performing leadership team. The DSP position presents exceptional opportunities for career advancement, with the potential to evolve into a vital member of the executive team within SimplePractice and/or Vista portfolio.

A successful DSP will play a critical role in minimizing customer disruption while elevating the company’s value through its products and services. Key competencies of this role will include the ability to assess, measure, and re-engineer business processes, along with leveraging technology to deliver innovative business solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional, high-impact projects as directed by the CEO:
    • Work with and coordinate among affected functional executives 
    • Implement, coordinate, and improve SimplePractice best practices, Vista best practices, across all functional areas
    • Manage and complete the successful implementation of strategic initiatives that enable revenue growth and/or accelerate company profitability and efficiency
    • Determine, track, and report metrics that measure the successful implementation of various strategic projects and initiatives
  • Proactively identify issues that could impact SimplePractice and find successful solutions:
    • Identify and elevate those issues about which the CEO should be aware and framing/positioning ideas to resolve the problem/mitigate the risk
    • Be the company representative and the voice of the CEO with external parties to resolve these issues and mitigate risk 
  • Partner with the CEO and CFO on post-M&A activities to drive acquisition integration 
  • Represent the CEO in high-level meetings, calls, and events when they are unavailable, ensuring continuity of leadership and presence.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between SimplePractice and Vista Equity Partners, as well as Vista Consulting Group, managing all engagements related to strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate seamless collaboration between the CEO and the executive leadership team by orchestrating key activities, such as setting agendas for offsite meetings, coordinating board meeting preparations, overseeing sell-side processes, etc.

Requirements: 

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree, with MBA highly preferred 
  • Must have 4-6 years operations experience with multiple assignments involving Mergers & Acquisition integration; consulting and Saas industry experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated competency with implementing business processes and activity-based metrics involving leading success indicators
  • Experience managing and leading teams, both directly and in matrixed environments
  • Solid project management skills, having managed and successfully delivered multiple, complex projects on-time and on-budget
  • Established business and financial acumen
  • Robust analytical and quantitative skills, as well as attention to detail
  • Resilient in the face of competing demands and conflicts
  • Demonstrated success in a high pressure, dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Proficient ability to drive change in a matrixed environment
  • Executive presence, relationship building, strong decision making skills
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Open to travel/relocation

Base Compensation Range

$180,000 - $200,000 annually

Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.

The above represents the expected base compensation range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider many factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
