As the Director of Special Education at River Rock Academy, you will play a critical role in ensuring high-quality, compliant special education services across our school programs. This position partners with school leaders, educators, families, and community stakeholders to support student success, strengthen programming, and promote consistent implementation of special education practices.

Applicants must reside in the state of Pennsylvania to be considered for this role.

What You’ll Need

  • Degree in Special Education; master's or doctorate preferred

  • Pennsylvania State Special Education Teaching certification [i.e. Instructional I or II in Special Education K-12]

  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state special education laws, regulations, and compliance requirements

  • Experience leading special education programs, coaching staff, and supporting school-based teams

  • Strong communication, organizational, data analysis, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to perform crisis intervention techniques and physically assist students during emergencies when needed

What You’ll Do

  • Provide coaching, consultation, and ongoing support to special education staff and school administrators

  • Lead professional development, onboarding, and mentoring initiatives that strengthen special education practices

  • Monitor compliance, analyze data, and prepare reports to support continuous program improvement

  • Partner with families, districts, agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve concerns and support student success

  • Travel to school locations to oversee special education services, systems, and program implementation
