As the Director, Revenue Accounting, you’ll own one of the most critical areas of financial reporting for a rapidly growing healthcare company. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, build scalable revenue processes, and lead a team that ensures accurate reporting under ASC 606. This is a high-visibility role with direct impact on strategic decisions, operational execution, and external reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of revenue accounting, including month-end close, analysis and reporting, controls considerations and technical accounting under ASC 606.

  • Oversee contract review for revenue recognition implications.

  • Lead and mentor a team of two revenue accountants, providing coaching and professional development.

  • Partner with Strategic Finance, Legal, Commercial, and Operations to support accurate forecasting, reporting, and compliance.

  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, systems, and controls to support scale and operational excellence.

  • Support external audits and reviews

  • Assist the Accounting team as needed with ad hoc tasks and projects

90 Day Plan

Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:

  • Become a subject matter expert in Virta’s business model, revenue streams, and contracts.

  • Develop strong working relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders (Strategic Finance, Legal, Commercial, Operations).

  • Assess current systems and processes and propose improvements for scalability and accuracy.

  • Take ownership of the revenue reporting process and implement improvements on revenue reporting.

Must-Haves
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

  • CPA with strong technical knowledge of ASC 606

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and industry, with at least 3+ years focused on revenue accounting

  • Experience in a fast-paced, public company environment

  • 3+ years in a leadership role managing teams and developing talent

  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable processes and controls

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally

  • Comfortable working in a fully remote setting

Virta has a location based compensation structure. Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. For this role, the compensation range is $175,088-$200,100. Information about Virta’s benefits is on our Careers page at: https://www.virtahealth.com/careers.
