ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primary Business Development representative for the Region, accountable for prospecting, canvassing, and closing media, sponsorship, and non-transactional revenue deals consistent with annual revenue goals.
  • Works as a key member of the Asset Management team to ensure full EBITDA collaboration across Marketing Partnerships, Operations, and Field Marketing KPIs as the department POC for each management team in their Region and other members of the Asset Management Team.
  • Coaches, trains, and develops the business development activity across each of the assigned center management teams to identify, create, and sell revenue opportunities through strategic positioning of mall assets and programming in order to achieve the financial and personal sales goals of each property.
  • Identifies and optimizes sellable inventory across each of their assigned centers, collaborating with internal and external constituents to maximize sales assets across their Region.
  • Monitors Marketing Partnership budget at each property within their Region, with ownership fluency in variances to adjust plan and budget in response to real time business climate. Provides frequent updates to center management teams and corporate team.
  • Manage the sales process from beginning to end, including establishing a pipeline, refining sales targets and pitches, and cultivating relationships with brand‐appropriate partners in pursuit of center deals.
  • Reads and comprehend leasing and legal documents for fluent understanding of restrictions and vocalizing solutions to overcome restrictive parameters to drive property EBITDA.
  • Effectively communicate the benefit of Tanger’s media and advertising platforms to offer marketing and advertising solutions to clients.
  • Develop positive working relationships with area brands and media buyers. Establish active involvement in area organizations that would benefit centers’ revenue objectives.
  • Work cross-functionally with enterprise leaders to drive all areas of Tanger business goals, creating collaborative efforts that achieve multiple KPIs.
  • Leads special projects as assigned by the Vice President, Marketing Partnerships.

  • Is able to analyze the impact of sponsors, partnerships and/or media involvement for center promotions.
  • Has a track record of exceeding goals consistently. 
  • Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English before groups such as customers, retailers, employees
  • Ability to multi‐task in a high‐volume setting
  • Ability to work independently and fully execute assigned projects
  • Ability to work flexible schedule to accommodate business needs, including holidays

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or Management with 7-10 year’s experience in sales or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Previous experience in venue sales, sponsorship, strategic marketing, event management, and budgeting in a sales environment

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Undergraduate degree with emphasis in sales, marketing, or business
  • 7-10 years previous experience in mall advertising sales, out-of-home sales, and/or B2B business development
  • 5-7 years successful track record in a B2B sales environment

TRAVEL:

  • This position requires up to 25% travel.  Must be able to travel via commercial airlines.  Must maintain a valid driver’s license and can operate own vehicle or rental car in a safe manner.

HIRING RANGE DISCLIAMER: 

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Tanger's total compensation package for employees. 

Hiring Range: $98,000 - $149,000 per year
