We are representing a restoration organization launching a new reconstruction department in the Colorado Springs market and seeking a Director of Reconstruction to build it from the ground up.
This is a startup leadership role inside an established company. The Director of Reconstruction will be responsible not only for project execution, but for building the team, establishing processes, and driving first-year revenue performance. There is an aggressive but achievable $1M+ reconstruction target in year one, and success requires someone who has done this before—or at least has led teams through growth phases.
This role is not suited for project managers who have only operated inside established departments. The right candidate is comfortable with ambiguity, capable of hiring and developing talent, and able to lead reconstruction operations without extensive existing infrastructure.
Build and lead the reconstruction department from inception, including hiring, onboarding, and developing the team
Own year-one reconstruction performance with a $1,000,000+ revenue target
Oversee residential and commercial reconstruction projects tied to restoration losses
Establish reconstruction workflows, standards, and operating rhythm
Lead field execution while maintaining accountability for cost, schedule, and quality
Partner closely with the General Manager on capacity planning, forecasting, and growth
Serve as the senior reconstruction authority for scopes, change orders, and escalations
Coordinate closely with mitigation and contents teams to create seamless job handoffs
Track job costing, labor efficiency, subcontractor performance, and profitability from day one
This is a build-and-lead role, not a maintenance role
This is not appropriate for candidates without team-building experience
This role requires comfort operating without established processes or staffing
Success is measured by department launch, team development, and revenue delivery
Why This Opportunity
This is a rare chance to build something from the ground up without assuming startup risk alone. The company has existing restoration volume, leadership support, and growth intent—what’s missing is the right reconstruction leader. For someone who wants to leave their mark, this role offers ownership, visibility, and long-term upside.
