Major League Baseball is on a multi-year mission to revolutionize the fan experience by blending the physical and digital worlds in ways never seen before. We’re creating unforgettable moments at the ballpark that are easy, fun, and personalized - using the power of technology to connect fans with the game in completely new ways. The MLB Ballpark app and Ticketing platform are our flagship products to bring this vision to life.

As Director, Product - MLB Ballpark app, you will sit at the intersection of strategy and execution. You’ll work closely with user research, product design, engineering, product & ticketing operations, third party vendor partners, MLB Clubs, and MLB business stakeholders to align on outcomes, prioritize features, manage tradeoffs, and drive delivery. This role emphasizes turning intent into action, breaking down strategic goals into concrete plans, shipping features, ensuring high-quality execution across a complex ecosystem of stakeholders, and continuously improving the fan experience based on real-world usage and feedback.

Responsibilities
  • Translate MLB’s ballpark experience vision, mission, and strategy into the Ballpark app’s tactical product roadmap
  • Translate high-level goals and priorities into clear, actionable product plans against which teams can execute
  • Own roadmap development and ongoing prioritization, balancing strategic initiatives with operational needs and in-season demands
  • Oversee the implementation of fan-facing features across ticketing, stadium access, mobile commerce, in-venue experiences, and personalization—ensuring a seamless fan journey from anticipation to attendance to post-game reflection, across digital, physical, and emotional touch points
  • Partner closely with User Research, Product Design, Software Engineering, and Product & Ticketing Operations to scope work, sequence delivery, and ensure consistent, high-quality execution that aligns with MLB season deadlines and key milestones
  • Define success metrics, monitor performance, and use data, insights, and fan feedback to guide iteration and optimization
  • Work in conjunction with Product & Ticketing Operations to collaborate with MLB Clubs, internal MLB stakeholders, and third party vendor partners to align requirements, manage dependencies, and deliver scalable solutions across all 30 ballparks
  • Identify tradeoffs and make informed decisions or escalate informed recommendations that balance fan impact, technical constraints, quality, security, Club requests, and business priorities
  • Lead and develop a team of product managers, setting clear expectations around execution rigor, accountability, communication, and collaboration
  • Develop and mentor Product Managers through regular coaching, clear career pathways, and effective performance management to build a high-performing, growth-oriented team. Create individualized development plans, provide actionable feedback, cultivate strong product talent, foster a culture of learning and ensure the team’s long-term success
  • Support live gameday operations and post-launch reviews, ensuring learnings are fed back into future product roadmap decisions

Qualifications & Skills

  • 7+ years of product management experience, with at least 4 years leading teams
  • Proven track record managing consumer-facing mobile products at scale
  • Strong acumen of digital ticketing, mobile payments, or fan engagement technologies.
  • Data-driven mindset with a passion for improving fan experiences
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
  • A love for sports, entertainment, and creating memorable fan experiences
