Job Title: Director of Product Management
Reports to: Chief Technology Officer
Job Description
The Director of Product Management leads the product organization for MJH’s data platform and web experiences that serve our audience of 8 million monthly healthcare professionals (HCPs).
As the founding Director of Product Management you will have the opportunity to create MJH’s mature product management practices. You’ll manage a team of PMs/TPMs/UX designers, hire and develop talent, and own the strategy, roadmaps, metrics, and experimentation program that tie our technology surfaces directly to revenue and audience growth. As the first Product Management director, you’ll have the opportunity to make our practices match your vision for product excellence.
Job Responsibilities
- Strategy & OKRs: Build and drive the product thesis that connects web/data surfaces to P&L; translate company goals into product OKRs and quarterly commitments.
- People Leadership: Hire, onboard, and develop PMs/TPMs; set career ladders, performance expectations, rituals, and quality bars.
- Delivery Management: Run quarterly planning; prioritize, sequence, and de-risk; maintain ≥85% roadmap commit hit rate.
- Research → Requirements: Lead customer research (HCPs + internal stakeholders); convert insights into crisp requirement documents and clear prioritization.
- Metrics & Experimentation: Define success metrics; instrument analytics; run A/B testing at healthy velocity; publish decision-grade readouts.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Engineering, Data, Editorial, Sales, and Marketing; clear blockers fast; communicate decisions plainly.
- Talent Pipeline: Recruit “ability over pedigree” candidates; maintain bench strength and succession plans.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Proven people manager of PMs/TPMs with clear coaching track record.
- Relentlessly analytical; strong problem decomposition and decision hygiene.
- Product management depth across strategy, roadmaps, and execution.
- Experimentation & analytics fluency (A/B testing; GA4/Amplitude or similar; SQL basics).
- Excellent PRD writing; sharp prioritization; clean, concise communication.
- Web performance/SEO literacy; monetization funnel familiarity (nice to have).
- Exposure to Snowflake/SaaS data products (nice to have).
- Experience in media/healthcare/HCP ecosystems (nice to have).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Compensation Range:
$115,000 – $135,000 per year, depending on qualifications. Eligible for annual company bonus program or commission incentive based on role. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for this position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
