Position Overview: The Director of Product and Technology will own the product strategy and roadmap for a cloud-based, multi-tenant software platform, built on technologies like Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, MERN, with a focus on optimizing both the internal and external personas of the control plane. This role also involves contributing strategic market insights to enhance the global employee engagement product, ensuring scalability, security, and an exceptional user experience for both internal teams and external customers
Primary Objectives/Outputs (in order of priority):
- Drive revenue growth for Unifyed.
- Own product strategy and roadmap to support revenue goal
- Establish and hit OKRs to drive significant value to our customers and our organization
Key Accountabilities::
- Product Strategy & Roadmap:
Lead the product strategy for a multi-tenant, cloud-native platform, ensuring the roadmap aligns with business objectives and customer needs.
Oversee the technical stack (Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, MERN), with a focus on optimizing the control plane for both internal personas (engineering, operations) and external personas (customers, partners)
- Control Plane Management:
Develop and optimize the control plane to ensure seamless management and observability for internal users (operations, engineering) and intuitive interfaces for external users (customers, partners).
Ensure the control plane is highly available, secure, and scalable in a multi-tenant environment
- Cloud Leadership in Higher Education:
Innovation for the cloud-based Higher Education Customer Service product, ensuring the multi-tenant architecture supports efficient internal control while delivering robust external customer solutions.
Sales and Marketing Leadership:
- Local Insight for Global Engagement Product:
Provide strategic local market insights for the global 360-degree employee engagement product, enhancing both internal operational efficiency and the external customer experience
Customer Success and Retention:
- OKRs & Value Creation:
Define and achieve OKRs that drive customer value and business growth through an efficient control plane that caters to both internal and external personas.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cloud-native, multi-tenant solutions that meet the diverse needs of various user groups
- Primary Tasks & Activities:
Lead Design and Product Development: Drive the design and development process of multi-tenant, cloud-native software, writing user stories and prioritizing the product backlog to align with the product strategy and roadmap.
Control Plane Optimization:
Ensure the control plane serves both internal (engineering, operations) and external (customers, partners) personas effectively, managing requirements that address scalability, security, and seamless user experience.
- Collaborate on Product Delivery:
Participate in stand-ups and work closely with development teams to ensure efficient and effective delivery of new features, contributing to an exceptional customer experience within a multi-tenant environment.
- Go-to-Market Planning:
Partner with Marketing to develop go-to-market strategies for new product features, ensuring clear communication of product releases and enhancements to internal and external stakeholders.
- Post-Launch Feedback & Continuous Improvement:
Solicit and analyze customer feedback post-launch to ensure key insights drive ongoing product improvements, particularly focusing on enhancing both internal and external control plane personas.
- Customer and Market Engagement:
Act as the primary liaison with customers to gather feedback, inform product strategy, and continuously refine the roadmap to meet evolving needs, leveraging strategic local market insights for global product initiatives

Travel to frequently meet with stakeholders, perform market research, and run tests to capture product requirements

Proven track record leading complex strategic and operational initiatives, working through technical, operational, legal/policy, and business issues
Expertise in discovery methodologies and analyzing the data to support the evolution of Unifyed’s product roadmap.
Problem solving skills that constantly translate market research, customer feedback, trends, issues, and changing needs to actionable insights and opportunities to meet customers unmet needs

Ability to engage and lead global resources in a matrix organization
- Qualification Skills & Experience
5+ years of related customer and data centric, B2B SaaS product management experience
Experience within the Higher Education or Customer Service industry
Relevant technology experience
Demonstrated competence of strategic roadmap development, lead and enable change and implementation
Bachelor’s Degree
