The Director, Platform Growth & Development is responsible for executing and advancing the company’s distribution, growth, and monetization strategy across top streaming OEM platforms including Amazon, Roku, Google, Apple, and other targeted device partners. This role manages key partner growth relationships, supports complex commercial agreements, and leads cross-functional initiatives to maximize reach, engagement, and revenue. As a key member of the Digital Commerce team, this role delivers business impact by scaling platform partnerships into durable, high-growth channels. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Platform Strategy & Revenue Ownership

Execute the integration of end-to-end marketing strategies for all major streaming platforms; manage day-to-day initiatives supporting traffic performance, conversion and sales targets, track performance, contribute to growth forecasts, and coordinate cross-functional planning with product, business development, and advertising.

Executive Relationship Management

Build and maintain multi-threaded OEM partner relationships with key partners (Amazon, Roku, Google, Apple, etc.); serve as the primary marketing point-of-contact and support regular business reviews, negotiations, and strategic planning sessions in partnership with other internal teams.

Deal Structuring & Negotiation

Support complex negotiations for distribution agreements, revenue share models, co-marketing investments, and platform merchandising opportunities; partner with biz dev, product marketing, and finance to structure scalable, high-impact deals.

Performance Optimization & Growth

Establish and track KPIs and operating rhythms to monitor platform performance (acquisition, engagement, retention, monetization); work collaboratively to identify and execute opportunities to accelerate growth and improve ROI across channels.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Organizational Development

Lead cross-functional initiatives, manage priorities, and develop scalable processes and best practices to support long-term platform growth.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 – 7 years required, 7+ years desired experience in strategic partnerships, channel sales, or platform business development within OTT, CTV, digital media, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated success managing and growing relationships with Tier 1 streaming OEM platforms (e.g., Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Google/Android TV, Apple TV).
  • Proven track record of negotiating and closing complex, high-value commercial agreements with measurable revenue impact.
  • Deep understanding of streaming business models including AVOD, FAST, SVOD, and CTV advertising ecosystems.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, with experience building business cases, forecasts, and joint business plans (JBPs).
  • Technical fluency in OTT ecosystems, including app distribution, platform certification, APIs/SDKs, and ad tech (e.g., SSAI, programmatic, measurement).
  • Exceptional executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Experience leading and scaling high-performing teams in a matrixed, cross-functional environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent business/strategy experience preferred.

May require a background check due to job duties requiring routine access to DIRECTV and DIRECTV customer’s proprietary data. Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction will be considered for employment in accordance with local ordinances and state law.

This role requires but is not limited to 25% travel as needed.

This is a remote position that can be located anywhere in the United States, with the exception of Alaska. #LI-Remote

DIRECTV's compensation structure is designed to be market-competitive and fully supports efforts to attract and retain employees. It is the company's policy to offer pay that is competitive with other employers in the local market. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

DIRECTV WAGE ZONES: $134,363 - $244,036

Low (N1): $134,363 - $201,595

Mid (N2): $141,435 - $212,205

High (N3): $155,579 - $233,426

Top (N4): $162,650 - $244,036
