Position Overview

We are looking for a hands on Senior Messaging Specialist / Architect with deep expertise in NATS.io and Red Hat AMQ, capable of designing and guiding enterprise-scale messaging solutions across VMware and OpenShift environments. This role focuses on strategic design, architecture, and governance of messaging systems, while providing technical leadership to operations and development teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead architecture and design of enterprise-grade messaging platforms leveraging NATS and AMQ.
- Define and implement best practices for messaging patterns, high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery.
- Work with enterprise architects and DevOps to design messaging solutions aligned with microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Evaluate migration strategies from AMQ to NATS and lead migration projects.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and oversight to engineers supporting messaging infrastructure.
- Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning across large-scale environments.
- Author governance, standards, and documentation for messaging services.
- Act as a primary escalation point for critical messaging-related incidents.

Required Skills

- 7+ years of experience in messaging platforms, with proven architecture-level responsibility.
- Deep expertise in NATS.io (Core, JetStream, NATS Streaming) and Red Hat AMQ (ActiveMQ Artemis, AMQ Streams).
- Strong knowledge of OpenShift, Kubernetes, and VMware vSphere architecture.
- Expertise in event-driven architecture (EDA), microservices integration, and hybrid-cloud solutions.
- Ability to design secure messaging topologies with TLS, mTLS, and OAuth2-based authentication.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps (ArgoCD, Helm, Operators).

Preferred Qualifications

- Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift / VMware VCP Certification.
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Pulsar for comparative architectural evaluations.
- Experience in enterprise migration programs between messaging platforms.
