Director of Logistics – Electrical Infrastructure

ROLE SUMMARY

PDM is seeking an experienced, hands-on logistics leader with experience successfully transporting very large, very heavy transformers and electrical infrastructure to join as Director of Logistics – Electrical Infrastructure. This individual leads the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of supply chain operations with focus on transportation, warehousing, and inventory management, to ensure cost-effective, timely delivery. Key responsibilities include managing budgets, selecting and negotiating with vendors, analyzing performance data, and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will be instrumental in supporting logistical solution development, optimizing transformer fulfillment for power generation projects, and driving satisfaction with PDM products by working directly with client operations and internal stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

◆  Strategic Planning: Develops and implements supply chain strategies to improve speed, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

◆  Operational Oversight: Manages day-to-day logistics, including warehousing, transloading, and transportation, for maximum productivity.

◆  Performance Management: Establishes and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate and improve supply chain efficiency.

◆  Vendor & Relationship Management: Negotiates with suppliers, third-party service providers, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers.

◆  Budgeting & Cost Control: Manages logistics budgets and identifies opportunities to minimize costs.

◆  Team Leadership: Oversees, coaches, and directs logistics staff, and coordinates with PDM team counterparts based in China.

◆  Compliance: Ensures all operations comply with laws, regulations, and safety standards.

IDEAL BACKGROUND & SKILLS

◆  Experience: 10+ years in logistics, supply chain management, or a similar role demonstrating success.

◆  Skills: Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in logistics software and data analysis.

◆  Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field required.

◆  Strong project management skills — can lead multimillion-dollar project delivery fulfillment from supplier hand-off through to client site.

◆  Strong communicator with ability to translate technical concepts to business audiences.

NICE TO HAVE

◆  Experience with the 7 C's of Logistics, including use of logistics systems for tracking and integrating into ERP systems.

◆  Familiarity with transformer factory operations and logistics.

COMPENSATION

Competitive base salary plus performance bonus and profit interests.
