The Position:

The Director of IT Internal Audit will lead the SOX assessment and evaluation of Veracyte’s IT systems, cybersecurity controls, and compliance frameworks. This role ensures the integrity, security, and efficiency of IT operations while aligning with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Further, the Director of IT Internal Audit will report to the CFO for organizational purposes, and also to the Chair of the Audit Committee to ensure independence.  Key stakeholders will include the Chief Information Officer and the IT leadership team, the finance leadership team, the executive leadership team and the broader legal and compliance organization.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT audit strategy, ensuring compliance with SOX and other relevant regulations.
  • Assess IT risks, security vulnerabilities, and operational inefficiencies, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Lead audits of IT infrastructure, cloud environments, data governance, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Develop an annual audit plan which takes into account organizational risk and execute according to the plan; reporting out results to the Audit Committee and the CCRC committee.
  • Collaborate with IT, finance, and compliance teams to strengthen internal controls and risk management.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and industry trends to enhance audit methodologies.
  • Ensure a positive relationship with external auditors.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in audit, IT audit, risk management, or cybersecurity, with leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of IT governance frameworks (COBIT, NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units. Veracyte is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
