Director, Medicare Advantage Growth Innovation

The Director of Medicare Advantage (MA) Growth Innovation will join Integrated Kidney Care (IKC), which is DaVita’s Value-Based Care business. They will be part of the Program Management team, which is responsible for IKC’s overall growth strategy and programmatic success. 

This role will be responsible for the design and pilot execution of new capabilities that expand the reach of IKC by increasing the Medicare Advantage portfolio, including general MA plans, Chronic Special Needs Plans (C-SNP), and Dual Special Needs Plans (D-SNP). Specifically, the role will formulate new growth and retention strategies to pursue, size the potential impact of these strategies, and execute the operational plans to test the highest priority opportunities. This is a highly dynamic space given the cross-functional partnership required to design and execute new growth and retention capabilities. The ideal candidate brings both strategic vision and hands-on execution skills, along with deep knowledge of the Medicare marketplace and its unique regulatory environment.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

The following duties and responsibilities reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.

Strategic Planning and Design

  • Set the overall strategic priorities to test and improve IKC growth and retention capabilities
  • Identify emerging trends, technologies, and approaches to improve reach and engagement.
  • Partner with analytics and product teams to define success metrics and insights-driven growth and retention tactics.
  • Be the subject matter expert on changes to MA / C-SNP / D-SNP policy and how these changes could create new opportunities for growth

Operational Execution

  • Design, lead, and scale pilot programs that test new models of patient growth, engagement, and retention for Medicare Advantage and C-SNPs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (legal and compliance, clinical operations, tech) to implement operational workflows that support pilot execution.
  • Develop detailed pilot charters, KPIs, timelines, and reporting dashboards to evaluate pilot success and ROI.
  • Establish metrics to evaluate pilot effectiveness and conduct post-pilot assessments and debriefs to determine scalability and integration into core operations.

Partner Management

  • Lead coordination with health plan partner to contract and execute these innovative growth and retention models, supporting contract execution and day-to-day oversight of operations
  • Where relevant, develop innovative engagement models with community-based organizations and other partners to support overall growth and retention efforts

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in healthcare strategy or operations; track record of strong execution and results at scale
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • Strong knowledge base of current healthcare payment and delivery structures encompassing Medicare Advantage, value-based care, managed care
  • Knowledge of CMS/Medicare marketing guidelines is preferred
  • Proven ability to identify and define business problems and develop strategic frameworks to solve
  • Powerful communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to influence and impact results at all levels internally and externally
  • Be hypothesis and insights-driven, strong nose for value and a bias towards action
  • Excel at facilitating complex conversations to drive to prioritization, actions, and results
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to build credibility in a matrixed organization
  • Driven with ability to work in a very fast-paced, hard-working, and fun environment

Salary/ Wage Range

$110,000.00 - $161,000.00 / year
