What You'll Do:
- Provide strong leadership, technical guidance/direction, and overall management of the engineering technical operations.
- Keen understanding of industry trends and experience with identifying new technology in order to anticipate and plan for future needs and growth that will position Engineering to support other Strategic Capabilities Units, Strategic Business Units and BAE Systems' Strategic Plan.
- Establish and maintain clear roles, responsibilities, and expectations between the Strategic Business Unit Program Managers, engineering functional organizations, operations, and mission assurance. Ensuring executing teams follow BAE Systems management tools, processes, procedures.
- Ensure that Engineering effectively manages programs and projects technical operations, utilizing best practices for execution success (technical, cost, schedule) by establishing, defining, developing, and communicating clear program and project processes, procedures, and training.
- Prioritize and communicate ongoing technical issues, concerns and recommend mitigation solutions. Ensure timely and effective end-user support.
- Direct, mentor, supervise personnel, ensuring accountability to stated process and procedures, with a goal for continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain performance metrics to ensure programs and projects align with organizational objectives, requirements, and schedule.
- Interface with other Strategic Capabilities Units and management to ensure compliance with organizational strategies, standards, and security requirements.
- Establish and grow relationships across Strategic Business Units and Strategic Capabilities Units Leadership to implement new technology and capabilities and communicate potential benefits to Engineering, Operations, Mission Assurance and Program management.
- Work across the organization to identify and lead strategic opportunities for change management to continually improve program execution and engineering operations. Lead new initiatives in cross-program/organization integration and collaboration.
- Develop and manage a cost assessment organization that can provide programmatic analysis for program execution and future planning and forecasting.
- Prioritize budget spending across multifaceted organization with varying initiatives and capital projects.
- Support Strategic Data Initiatives to include data analytics, data governance, and a well-established reporting and dashboard capabilities.
- Provide exceptional customer service, clear communication and consistently follow-up on issues and projects as required. Collaboratively work with and lead teams to include technical teams of engineers and program managers and other Directors.
- Instantiate digital engineering practices and tools.
- Participate in program and project technical reviews as required.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- BS/BA in related field plus 15 years or more related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
