Department OverviewWe're looking for a Director of Hardware Engineering to lead our global video hardware team. This is an opportunity to join a global leader in public safety and mission-critical technology and make a significant impact on our Evidence Solutions portfolio.
You'll report directly to the AVP of Product Engineering, Video Devices and be responsible for the full hardware lifecycle of our video surveillance camera devices. This includes driving the vision, strategy, and execution for both new product development and sustaining engineering.

Job DescriptionWhat You'll Do:
Vision and Strategy: Define and execute the long-term hardware vision and strategy for our video surveillance products, aligning with overall business objectives.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a large, multidisciplinary team of hardware engineers, including electrical, mechanical, and test engineers. Influence others to accept practices and approaches.
Product Development: Drive the design, development, and delivery of innovative, high-quality, and reliable video surveillance camera hardware.
Innovation: Foster an environment of continuous improvement and innovation, encouraging the team to explore new technologies and challenge the status quo.
Collaboration: Partner closely with software engineering, product management, and other cross-functional teams and stakeholders to influence strategic priorities, ensure seamless integration, and a cohesive product strategy.
Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and oversight throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and prototyping to production and post-launch support.
Process Improvement: Implement and refine engineering processes to enhance and improve efficiency, scalability, stability, quality, and security of our products and services.
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field. A Master's degree is considered a plus
10+ years of engineering experience
5+ years of experience in a leadership role managing a team of multi-disciplined engineers
Deep technical knowledge of electrical engineering principles, mechanical design, and manufacturing processes
Be a visionary leader with a proven track record of bringing complex hardware products/devices to market successfully
An influential and proactive communicator who can articulate a clear vision, foster a culture of trust and accountability, and inspire a team
Ability to travel internationally (25% or less) and ability to work flexible hours to accommodate US, EU, and APAC time-zones.
Target Base Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000
