As Director of Government Relations for the Eastern U.S. and Canada, you'll report directly to the VP, Head of Government Relations. You will manage Coco’s introduction to new markets and maintain relationships with policy makers and community stakeholders in our active markets. You will be responsible for securing policy frameworks that support the safe and sustainable operation of our service across your region. The ideal candidate will have deep experience running multiple government relations strategies simultaneously and have a strong network of contacts to leverage across the region.

Responsibilities
  • Shape Coco’s political and regulatory strategy for cities in the Eastern U.S. and Canada

  • Collaborate across departments to plan Coco’s expansion strategy in the region

  • Introduce Coco’s service to new cities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with city stakeholders and community groups

  • Grow your team to support expansion across the region

  • Hire and manage teams of policy consultants

  • Track legislation relevant to Coco’s operations in your region at the city, county, state, levels.

Qualifications
  • A passion for Coco and bringing more sustainable and reliable delivery to merchants

  • BA/BS in a related field

  • Master’s preferred

  • 7+ years government relations experience

  • 3+ years of team management experience

  • Strong relationships and a history of successfully working with political stakeholders across your region

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • You enjoy working as a part of a team

  • You’re highly competitive and goal oriented, and have a track record of relentlessly pursuing and exceeding professional targets
