The position will report directly to the Executive Director (ED), Global Value, Access & Pricing (GVAP), Solid Tumors (ST) Lead, and will be responsible for developing GVAP strategies across the Solid Tumor portfolio for pipeline assets, under the direct supervision and approval of the ED, GVAP, Lead, Solid Tumors.
The Director, GVAP, Solid Tumors Pipeline provides critical strategic insights and guidance to ensure pipeline assets meet future market access needs and maximize commercial potential. The person in this position will focus on identifying market access-related evidentiary gaps in clinical development plans that could result in a breadth of reimbursement inconsistent with planned labelled population(s) and/or pricing that does not sustainably support the business. The person in this role will work cross-functionally with relevant stakeholders to develop recommendations to close those gaps and/or for evidence generation that, if implemented, would result in optimizing reimbursement and pricing potential. The person in this role must be capable of estimating the impact of different clinical development scenarios on access and price potential. The person in this role will confer with the ED, GVAP, Lead Solid Tumors, to determine how and when to disseminate GVAP analysis and recommendations. Furthermore, the position will support portfolio prioritization exercises.
This is a senior role that is critical in setting the foundation for the Company’s future Solid Tumor (ST) product success in that the person in this role develops a strategic vision for the pipeline, which is informed by market access expertise and a deep understanding of the evolving needs of global payers.
Essential Functions of the job:
Pipeline Market Access Strategy Development:
- Lead the creation and implementation of global pricing and market access strategies for ST pipeline products (typically but not exclusively Phase II and III assets), aligning with clinical and commercial goals.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate access requirements into the development process, influencing trial design, endpoints, and evidence generation to meet payer needs.
- Lead the collection and aggregation of feedback from all regions in which the Company operates and develop recommendations regarding clinical development and other evidence generation based on that feedback.
- In alignment with the ED, GVAP ST, represent the GVAP ST perspective (aligned with Regions and/or focus markets and HEOR) to governance or oversight bodies of the Company (e.g., GPT, GBT)
Value Proposition & Evidence Generation:
- Develop early value propositions that resonate with global payers and support future pricing, reimbursement, and access decisions.
- Work closely with Clinical, Medical Affairs, and Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) teams to shape clinical trial design and evidence-generation strategies that align with target market access requirements.
- Identify and prioritize evidence gaps; work closely with HEOR to ensure development of health economic models, burden-of-illness studies, and other data to address payer concerns and enhance product differentiation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- If delegated by ED, GVAP ST, serve as the primary market access point of contact for one or more GPTs.
- Collaborate with R&D, Commercial (incl. PSV), Medical Affairs, and Regulatory Affairs to ensure access-related insights and payer needs are integrated into the overall development strategy.
- Provide input into clinical decisions and Business Development to ensure payer requirements are recognized, addressed and or additional evidence generated through other means, in support of the commercial strategy development expectations, trends and risks.
- Engage with focus markets and regional access teams to ensure early alignment on access strategies and support local adaptation for specific market needs.
- Working together with commercial, clinical, medical / HEOR and regional market access teams, align on early asset target product profile definitions and evidence required as well as planned value proposition that will support value positioning and reduce pricing and reimbursement uncertainties across all regions in which BeOne operates.
Pre-Launch Preparation:
- Drive pre-launch planning for pipeline products, including the creation of early value toolkits and JCA relevant PICOs and early engagement strategies to optimize future access and reimbursement.
- Support market access launch readiness through regular communication, training, and support to regional and affiliate teams, preparing them to engage with payers as the product nears market entry.
- Support regional activities relating to regional asset in-licensing for early pipeline products.
Market Insights & Competitive Landscape Analysis:
- Continuously monitor the solid tumor landscape, including competitor activities, evolving payer requirements, and regulatory changes that impact access and reimbursement.
- Run analysis of payer insights, pricing trends, and market conditions to inform strategy adjustments and refine access plans.
- Use global and regional insights to refine value propositions and enhance product positioning as the product advances through clinical phases.
- Lead early pipeline consultation processes with payers across all regions (in collaboration with the regions and/or focus markets) (e.g., CADTH, NICE, etc.).
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- No direct supervision, high level of cross functional and pan-regional collaborations with internal stakeholders.

Education:
- BA/BS degree is required, MA/MS or higher preferred.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree with +10 years of related pharmaceutical experience is necessary with at least 5 years of direct experience in global/ regional or local Market Access functions. Experience from pipeline/early development and JCA preparation a strong advantage.
- Deep experience in market access and payer engagement within the oncology therapeutic area, with a strong ability to develop and deliver value toolkits that support regional and affiliate teams.
- Detailed understanding of global pricing & reimbursement landscape, including the interrelation of various region pricing guidelines, HTA and national reimbursement process and requirements.
- Strong understanding of regional pricing requirements for coverage and reimbursement with the ability to manage complex cases and successfully address customer objections and questions.
- Knowledge of health technology assessment methods / health economics (HE) modeling is an advantage
- Ability to work effectively and communicate across multiple cultures and a breadth of functions and levels
- Analytical competencies to structure complex issues, synthesize key points and communicate and present in an easy-to-understand manner
- Strategic thinking, initiative, organization, prioritization and planning skills
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal, a second language is an advantage
- Strong customer focus in cross functional collaborations and teams, strong leadership and presentations skills with leadership across commercial and finance colleagues.
- Solid interpersonal skills including written and oral communication skills, ability to synthesize data, interpret and translate into compelling and clear commercial strategies and plans.
- Expertise and understanding of dynamic global market access value models such as value-based propositions and cost effectiveness models, etc.
- Capability of executing projects in timely fashion, getting things done rapidly.
Travel:
- Approx. 15% of time.
