Job Summary
The Director of Product Management will lead the global product management function for electric motors and control systems serving the Off-Highway and Commercial Vehicle markets. This role is responsible for defining the global product strategy, managing the product portfolio and product lifecycle, and driving profitable growth. The position will collaborate closely with R&D, Sales, Operations, and Regional teams to ensure alignment between market needs, product innovation, and business objectives.Job Description
- Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and own the global product vision, strategy, and roadmap for motors and control products
- Analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities. and to stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
- Align product strategy with company’s long-term objectives and market positioning.
- Product Lifecycle Management
- Leading & Managing the complete product lifecycle (incl. input from ideation and new product definition, portfolio positioning, product portfolio management, systematic planning / introduction / transition / phase-out of products etc.) focusing on the global releases, global phase-in/ phase outs, etc..
- Ensure strong business cases, pricing strategies, and ROI justification for new product investments.
- Monitor product performance and profitability; initiate corrective actions where required.
- Market & Customer Engagement
- Understand market and customer requirements, and their impacts on the offering portfolios and solutions. Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring customer requirements are translated into product features and performance.
- Build and maintain relationships with key OEMs and channel partners in the Off-Highway and Commercial Vehicle markets.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing to support go-to-market strategies, launches, and key account development.
- Cross-Functional Leadership
- Drive product line profitability and growth in line with company targets.
- Develop annual product line business plans including revenue, margin, and investment requirements.
- Support strategic decisions on make/buy, technology partnerships, and regional product customization.
Additional Job Details
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in Product Management or related roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven track record managing global product portfolios in industrial equipment, automotive, or electrification sectors.
- Strong knowledge of Off-Highway machinery and/or Commercial Vehicle markets, including electrification trends.
- Experience with motors, power electronics, or control systems strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in launching new products, growing market share, and achieving financial targets.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and financial acumen.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with ability to engage senior stakeholders and customers globally.
- Willingness to travel internationally (30–40%).
