Job Summary

Comcast is seeking a Director of AI Platform to lead and expand our AIE Platform team. This team is the foundation of our AI and Machine Learning (ML) operations, providing the critical infrastructure and tools that empower our Data Scientists and ML Engineers to efficiently build, test, and deploy models at scale. Your leadership in this role will help drive AI-powered innovations that enhance the customer experience across Comcast’s products and services. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth expertise in data fabric, unified catalogs, data products, Workflow Orchestration, Feature Stores for AI , ML ops and Observability, and enabling data for AI models. As the Director of AI Platforms, you will set the strategic vision, guide technical execution, and contribute as a hands-on engineer to ensure scalable and practical solutions. 

Job Description

Comcast is seeking a Director of AI Platform to lead and expand our AIE Platform team. This team is the foundation of our AI and Machine Learning (ML) operations, providing the critical infrastructure and tools that empower our Data Scientists and ML Engineers to efficiently build, test, and deploy models at scale. Your leadership in this role will help drive AI-powered innovations that enhance the customer experience across Comcast’s products and services. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth expertise in data fabric, unified catalogs, data products, Workflow Orchestration, Feature Stores for AI , ML ops and Observability, and enabling data for AI models. As the Director of AI Platform, you will set the strategic vision, guide technical execution, and contribute as a hands-on engineer to ensure scalable and practical solutions. 

This Director can be based with the team in either Philadelphia or Denver; it is not approved for Remote/Virtual hire.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the vision, goals, and strategy for Comcast’s AI Platform, accelerating the deployment of AI/ML models into production.
  • Oversee the development of scalable ML infrastructure, ensuring high standards for code quality, system design, and reliability.
  • Participate in technical design discussions and provide architectural guidance.
  • Collaborate closely with ML Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Managers to understand business needs and translate them into AI/ML platform solutions.
  • Experience with patent filing process and have filed at least one patent.
  • Partner with engineering teams across Comcast to integrate AI/ML workflows into the company’s technology stack.
  • Establish best practices and processes to enhance team efficiency and operational excellence.
  • Design and implement data fabric to integrate data from diverse sources and provide a unified view of data.
  • Develop and implement feature stores to manage and serve features for AI models.
  • Possess a solid understanding of various AI stacks from cloud providers.
  • Contribute to ML Ops initiatives to streamline the development and deployment of AI models.
  • Strong understanding of unified data catalogs, feature stores, access controls, and Trino.
     

What We're Looking For:

  • 10+ years of experience in ML, backend, data, or platform engineering, with 4+ years in ML/AI.
  • 3+ years of engineering management experience, ideally in an AI platform role.
  • Expertise in ML Ops and data infrastructure development.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native infrastructure and scalable ML systems.
  • Proven ability to align AI platform strategy with business and product objectives.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving execution and delivering impactful business outcomes.
  • Passion for mentorship, coaching, and team development.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong ability to evaluate build vs. buy decisions for ML tooling and infrastructure.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with AWS, Argo, Kafka, Kubernetes, Terraform, Databricks, Flink, Ray, or other ML Ops tooling.

Compensation

Primary Location Pay Range: $176,651.48 - $264,977.22

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
