About the role

We are looking for a strategic, experienced, and collaborative leader to join us as the Director, Contracts & Rights Management. In this global leadership role, you'll guide Crunchyroll's Deal Management function, overseeing the full lifecycle of high-value content deals—from initial setup to financial execution and royalty reporting. Your work will help advance scalability, compliance, and across our growing content portfolio.

We're looking for a professional with deep experience in entertainment deal management and royalty operations—someone who has built and led teams, refined operational systems, and driven transformation.

You'll promote efficiency, agreement, and transparency, ensuring Crunchyroll's content partnerships deliver maximum value.

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the global Deal Management team, encouraging a culture of inclusion, accountability, and performance to support business growth and compliance.
  • Enterprise Alignment: Collaborate with Legal, Content Acquisition, Business Affairs, FP&A, Accounting, and IT to bring licensing terms to life and enhance deal value.
  • Contractual Execution: Manage complex content licensing agreements to ensure compliance with financial, legal, and operational requirements.
  • System & Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement through automation, system upgrades, and workflow enhancements that support scalable and efficient operations.
  • Governance & Controls: Establish and maintain controls and best practices to ensure data integrity, accurate reporting, and audit readiness.
  • Thought Leadership: Provide strategic insight into deal structures and royalty frameworks, supporting negotiations and execution with deep subject matter expertise.
  • Reporting & Insights: Deliver clear, data-driven insights and reporting to leadership on deal performance, financial outcomes, and system effectiveness.

You will report to the Chief Accounting Officer and is based in our Los Angeles or Dallas office, following a hybrid work schedule.

About You
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in content deal management, contract administration, or royalty accounting in entertainment, media, or streaming.
  • Experience managing global or regional teams and navigating organizational growth and change.
  • Experience with content licensing, rights management, and complex contract interpretation within studios, distributors, or streaming platforms.
  • Experience operationalizing licensing agreements and royalty models at scale with a focus on compliance and reporting accuracy.
  • Track record in improving system implementations, and automation projects.
  • Experience with building agreement and managing relationships across varied teams and time zones.
  • Familiarity with global corporate environments and international licensing or compliance considerations.
  • Experienced in building and mentoring inclusive teams.
  • Proficient with royalty and rights management tools (e.g., Rightsline, Alliant).
  • Advanced Excel skills (can maintain complex spreadsheets) and proficiency in Word and PowerPoint required.

The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees.
