As Director, Content Marketing, you will lead the VelocityEHS content engine into its next chapter of growth. In this high-impact, player-coach role, you'll define and execute a bold content strategy that elevates our brand, connects deeply with audiences, and supports demand, product, sales, and thought leadership initiatives.
You will guide a high-performing creative team-including Content (writers), Design, and Multimedia (video)-to deliver high-quality, engaging, performance-driven content. This role is both strategic and operational, setting content direction, ensuring alignment across teams, implementing tools and processes for efficiency, and analyzing performance to continually improve. You'll lead the charge in leveraging AI and automation to scale content creation, amplify our message, and deliver measurable impact.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
As the connective hub between creative, demand generation, product marketing, and sales, the Director, Content Marketing will focus on strategy and planning, team leadership and operations, and measurement and reporting.
Strategy and Planning• Create and optimize industry-leading content strategy that supports VelocityEHS brand visibility, demand generation, product growth, and business goals.• Design and manage the content calendar with annual themes to align with campaigns, launches, sales, and departmental priorities.• Identify content gaps and opportunities to improve pipeline impact and customer engagement.• Establish a unified content strategy that integrates SEO best practices, demand generation needs, and thought leadership amplification.• Partner with AVP, Brand to ensure creative outputs reflect brand positioning, messaging, and architecture.
Team Leadership and Operations• Lead, inspire, coach, and ensure creative team has resources, clarity, and information to deliver impactful creative at scale.• Educate and guide stakeholders on content request process, setting standards that improve quality, efficiency, and performance.• Partner with demand generation, product marketing, digital, brand, and sales teams to align messaging, strengthen enablement, maximize value, and accelerate sales cycles.• Run weekly team meetings to set priorities, manage resources, and remove roadblocks.• Drive content operations and efficiency through the application of AI, project management software, and automation tools.• Maintain high standards of editorial quality, brand consistency, and creative innovation across all content.
Measurement and Reporting• Track performance, analyze trends, and adapt strategies to ensure measurable impact and continuous improvement.• Define and track content performance metrics (traffic, engagement, SEO growth, conversions, pipeline contribution).• Provide regular reporting and updates to AVP, Brand on content effectiveness, ROI, and areas for optimization.• Use data and insights to continuously refine strategy and prioritize efforts that drive the greatest business impact.
Minimum Skills and Qualifications• 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in content marketing strategy, operations, and execution, including multiple years leading strategy, teams, and high-impact initiatives.• Demonstrated success building audience-first content strategies that drive engagement, brand visibility, SEO and pipeline growth.• Strong leadership and collaboration skills with ability to align cross-functional teams around shared vision to deliver results.• Entrepreneurial mindset with a creative spirit and strong bias for action.• Track record of building content strategy from the ground up, including brand identity, messaging frameworks, and content governance.• Strong knowledge of content and automation tools (Google Analytics, SEMRush, HubSpot, etc.) and project management tools (Asana preferred)• Exceptional organizational, leadership, and cross-functional communication skills.• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field (Master's a plus)

The expected salary range for this position is between $144,350 and $195,150 USD (United States). We aim to hire between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range and offers at the maximum of the range are uncommon.
