What You’ll Do

The Director of Compliance serves as the primary oversight of the affordable compliance team, property operations, corporate compliance leadership, and compliance service vendors. This role is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation, administration, and ongoing effectiveness of affordable housing operations and compliance programs across a multifamily portfolio. As the Director of Compliance, you will provide operational oversight, coordinates and responds to regulatory agency requests and audits, oversees compliance systems and data integrity, and ensures adherence to federal, state, and agency requirements.  

Your day-to-day may include:

  • Lead and oversee affordable housing compliance operations across the portfolio. 
  • Supervise compliance support team members and coordinate outsourced compliance service relationships. 
  • Serve as the designated TRACS and MINC coordinator. 
  • Oversee certification workflows, voucher processing, reconciliations, and subsidy administration activities. 
  • Present audit findings and remediation initiatives to leadership. 

Requirements

What You Bring

  • At least seven years of affordable housing compliance leadership experience supporting multi-property or multi-state portfolios. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HUD, LIHTC, HOME, Section 8, Rural Development, Fair Housing, VAWA, HOTMA, NSPIRE, and affordable housing regulations. 
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance, agency reporting, certification processes, and audit management. 
  • Ability to lead compliance programs across multi-property and multi-state affordable housing portfolios. 
  • Strong proficiency with Yardi Voyager, Microsoft Office applications, and reporting tools.

The expected compensation range for this position is $150,000.00- $167,500.00, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
