The Role

We are looking for a Director of Communications who will be responsible for developing and executing Riot Platforms’ narrative, voice, and communications strategy across internal and external audiences. This role translates company priorities and leadership direction into clear, disciplined, and well-sequenced communications that support Riot Platforms’ evolution as a digital infrastructure company.


The Director of Communications is hands-on in execution and operates within established leadership alignment and governance, ensuring communications are intentional, consistent, and aligned to enterprise priorities.


What You'll Do

  • Develop and govern Riot Platform’ narrative, voice, and messaging standards across all internal and external communications.
  • Lead media relations, press strategy, and leadership messaging.
  • Partner closely with the Director of Marketing to ensure communications reinforce brand positioning
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive messaging and narrative framework, ensuring consistency across all channels.
  • Oversee internal communications, including company-wide updates, leadership messaging, and change communications.
  • Prepare executives for media appearances, conferences, and interviews; develop briefing materials and talking points.
  • Manage editorial calendars and content workflows across web, social, internal platforms, and press.
  • Monitor media coverage, sentiment, and reputational risk; proactively identify opportunities and issues.
  • Build and lead a communications team as the organization grows.


What You'll Bring

  • 8+ years in communications, public relations, or corporate messaging roles.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills across formats and audiences.
  • Experience supporting leadership and investor facing communications.
  • Strong strategic judgment and ability to operate in dynamic, high growth environments.
  • Comfort translating complex technical or operational topics into accessible narratives.
  • Background in technology, infrastructure, energy, or adjacent industries preferred.


Compensation and Benefits 

  • Competitive Salary: Base salary range $150,000 - $175,000 (commensurate with experience) + sign-on equity grant + bonus.
