Cribl is excited to welcome a Director of Sales Commissions to our Finance team to support our go-to-market organization. This pivotal role will be responsible for managing the entire sales commission process, ensuring accurate calculations, timely payments, and alignment with business objectives. Design and administer scalable, compliant commission plans and models in partnership with Revenue Operations, aligning with business goals and sales strategies.

  • Monitor plan effectiveness, analyze compensation-related performance metrics, and recommend adjustments to optimize motivation and revenue outcomes
  • Manage the end-to-end commission lifecycle, including the calculation, validation, and timely payout of commissions, draws, MBOs, and SPIFFs.
  • Oversee commission system implementation and maintenance, ensuring accurate integration with CRM, ERP, and related platforms.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, and IT to ensure data integrity, forecasting alignment, and optimal system performance.
  • Coordinate with legal and human resources to ensure plan compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Analyze commission data for accuracy, budget adherence, and actionable sales performance insights; investigate and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of commission policies, procedures, and plan details, support SOX compliance and audit requirements.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to sales teams regarding commission structures, tools, and policies.
  • Continuously improve processes and internal controls to drive efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Generate ad hoc reports and insights for management; serve as a player-coach by managing one Commissions Analyst while contributing to daily operations.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience driving and leading the commissions accounting and sales reporting process
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related business field.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise software compensation structures, including quotas, accelerators, pay mix, and OTE.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams involved in incentive compensation processes.
  • Sound judgment and analytical skills to address complex commission scenarios and recommend effective solutions.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Experience at a global high-growth pre-IPO SaaS company preferred

Salary Range ($190,000 - $240.000)

The salary for this role is dependent on geographic location. The salary offered within the range described will be based on the individual candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition to a competitive salary, Cribl also offers a generous benefits package which includes health, dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance, paid holidays and paid time off, a fertility treatment benefit, 401(k), equity, and eligibility for a discretionary company-wide bonus.
