Salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. 

  • Estimated annual base pay:  161,600 (minimum) - $202,000 (midpoint) - $242,400(maximum)

 Are you ready to make your mark? If you’re a Commercial Operations Professional, we have an exciting opportunity for you.  The Commercial Operations Director is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the customer service operations within the aerospace sector. This individual will lead a team of Comm Ops Managers and support staff, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service and fostering strong relationships with clients. The role combines strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership to drive customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and business growth in a highly regulated, fast-paced industry.

What You Will Be Doing 

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Comm Ops Managers to achieve performance targets and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture that promotes accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear goals and expectations for the team, providing regular performance feedback and coaching.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Act as a primary point of escalation for high-value or complex customer issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key aerospace customers, understanding their unique needs and challenges.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve the customer experience and exceed client expectations.

Operational Oversight:

  • Develop, implement, and manage processes and procedures to ensure efficiency, compliance, and alignment with aerospace industry standards.
  • Monitor key performance metrics (KPIs) such as response times, resolution rates, and customer satisfaction scores, taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Oversee the development of tools and systems to enhance customer service operations.

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align customer service strategies with overall business goals and objectives.
  • Identify market trends, customer needs, and opportunities for growth within the aerospace sector.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance service delivery, optimize workflows, and improve operational scalability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with sales, engineering, supply chain, and other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination in meeting customer demands.
  • Partner with compliance and quality assurance teams to ensure adherence to aerospace regulations and standards.

Regulatory and Industry Compliance:

  • Ensure all customer service processes comply with aerospace industry regulations and certifications.
  • Stay updated on changes in aerospace standards and best practices, implementing necessary updates in operations.

Financial and Resource Management:

  • Manage departmental budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high service standards.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet customer and business demands.

What We Are Looking For 

  • 8–10+ years of experience in customer service, commercial operations, or business management, preferably in the aerospace or aviation industry.
    • At least 5 years of leadership experience managing teams in a high-pressure, customer-facing environment.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
    • In-depth understanding of aerospace industry regulations, standards, and customer requirements.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strategic thinking with the ability to balance long-term goals with day-to-day operational demands.
    • Proficiency in customer relationship management (CRM) software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Experienced with continuous improvement and business process improvement
  • Certifications:
    Certifications related to aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100, FAA regulations) or project management (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma) are a plus.

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).   All applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of the ITAR and EAR, or eligible to obtain all required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce.
