What will I be doing?

The Director of Commercial Finance for Media will serve as a key financial partner to business leaders across Circana’s Media business, including supporting the integration of the recently acquired NCS and MMM businesses. This role is responsible for delivering financial insights, driving forecast accuracy, and supporting strategic decision-making to accelerate growth and profitability.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Product, and Corporate FP&A to ensure financial discipline, transparency, and alignment with enterprise goals. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and is passionate about enabling business success through financial excellence across a Media portfolio.


Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with Media leadership to support growth strategies, pricing decisions, and resource allocation.
  • Provide financial guidance on go-to-market initiatives, client renewals, and new product launches across Media offerings.
  • Lead the financial planning process for the Media business, including annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and monthly outlooks.
  • Ensure alignment between business drivers and corporate financial targets.
  • Deliver actionable insights that inform strategy and improve financial outcomes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance forecasting accuracy and reporting efficiency.
  • Support finance transformation initiatives, including automation and data standardization.
  • Manage and mentor junior finance professionals to deliver a culture of successful performance and change management.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
  • Understand, analyze, and extract insights from business results, financial results, and KPIs gathered from stakeholders, ensuring key business drivers, results and risks are gathered into a cohesive story that drives decisions.
  • Develop strong partnerships cross-functionally to complete highly complex analytics and support a global operating model.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Finance, with a focus on FP&A, commercial finance, or business partnership.
  • Experience supporting commercial or product organizations in a matrixed, high-growth environment.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required; MBA or CPA a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of management and employees, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to constructively handle conflict.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead key business reporting and data/information gathering, delivering high quality, timely results and work products while also holding others accountable.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate financials into business narratives and influence executive stakeholders.
  • Critical thinker with a continuous improvement and learning mindset.
  • Ability to work independently to demonstrate initiative.
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning systems, data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI), and modern FP&A technologies. Expert in Excel and PowerPoint, with strong communication and executive level presentation skills.

Location

This position can be located in the following area(s): Fully Remote (<10% Travel) or Hybrid (Chicago, IL) 


The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The salary range for this role is $150K to $175K.

This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
