Position Summary

The Cloud Services Director at Coalfire plays a crucial role in driving the organization’s business and practice direction. They possess strong communication skills, technical writing abilities, and have expertise in supporting professional services projects incloud architecture, project management, marketing, and sales support. They are responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships and overseeing project leads/engagement managers and helping them manage their project resources.

Additionally, they coordinate go-to-market strategies for new services and play a vital role in shaping the overall direction and success of the practice. People management, mentorship, recruiting, and training are also key responsibilities, ensuring the development and growth of both the team and the practice as a whole.

What You'll Do

  • Support the Quality and Risk Management process for our clients, review and hold accountable the team to a high standard of delivery
  • Attend and run executive steering committee calls with customers, build partnerships and relationships with key client stakeholders
  • Oversee delivery teams by reviewing and advising on project resourcing plans, project plans, and roadmaps
  • Manage practice revenue by reviewing our backlog for accuracy and intervene in overrun projects to identify mitigation plans
  • Travel required up to 25%
  • Identify areas for process improvement and work to implement maturity in the governance of our engineering practice
  • Collaborate across the organization to define and develop offerings
  • Bring creativity and knowledge domains to be successful in the development of service offerings
  • Develop, measure, and monitor success criteria and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Contribute to thought leadership and marketing efforts
  • Manage a team of managers, responsible for talent decisions regarding performance management, compensation and hiring
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to team members
  • Responsible for building a world-class team for Cloud services
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to team members
  • Manage the team to achieve bookings targets and successful delivery to our clients
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
  • Be knowledgeable with hyperscale public Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Continuous professional development in maintaining industry specific certifications
  • Maintain strong depth of technical knowledge
  • Support scoping and selling follow-on and new service opportunities
  • Customer obsession and focus on client satisfaction and renewals
  • Assist and provide expert on-boarding and operational standard methodologies
  • Manage escalations of client engagements, ensuring delivery of quality products and services

What You'll Bring

  • 8+ years direct operational or managed services experience
  • Proven history of growing professional and/or managed services, supporting adoption, and ensuring retention
  • Experienced in cloud strategy, adoption, and operations within AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Experience managing financial aspects of services delivery such as recurring revenue, bookings, cost and margin
  • Confirmed ability to drive continuous value internally and externally
  • You will be a strong teammate, but still a self-starter
  • Thrive in a multi-tasking environment and can adjust priorities on-the-fly while still having the ability to focus on details and be analytical
  • Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to provide quick resolution to problems
  • Possess exceptional verbal, written, social, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with professional attitude and demeanor
  • Critical thinking, and ability to balance environmental requirements with mission needs
  • BS or above in related Information Technology field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Bonus Points

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure and/or GCP capabilities and services (cloud certifications preferred)
  • Proven expertise in implementation of system security and compliance
  • Expertise with serverless, microservices, and other modern application architectures
  • Certifications in Cloud Vendors, as well with organizations such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or PMP
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, SOC, ISO, HIPAA, HITRUST, PCI, etc.
