This is a high‑visibility leadership role for a seasoned claims executive who thrives in fast‑paced, high‑volume environments and knows how to mobilize large teams during crisis events.

What You’ll Lead & Deliver

As Director of P&C Claims (CAT), you will shape and execute strategy across a complex, multi‑site CAT operation while managing performance, compliance, customer experience, and operational discipline.

Core Leadership Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence: Drive performance across cycle time, quality, customer experience, capacity planning, and expense control.

  • CAT Response Leadership: Lead large, geographically dispersed CAT teams through surge events—balancing agility, scale, and consistency.

  • People Leadership: Coach, develop, and elevate leaders at all levels; build a high‑performance culture centered on accountability and empathy.

  • Customer & Client Experience: Ensure policyholders receive transparent, empathetic, timely support during their most difficult moments.

  • Risk & Compliance: Oversee regulatory adherence, complex claim decisions, and escalation protocols.

  • Continuous Improvement: Advance processes, systems, and claims operating models that enhance scale and performance.

  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with Product, Finance, Legal, Catastrophe, Technology, and client‑facing teams to align execution with enterprise strategy.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of P&C claims experience with proven leadership of multi‑team or large‑scale claims operations.

  • Deep catastrophe leadership experience, including high‑severity, high‑volume event management and surge staffing models.

  • Strong operational ownership across quality, performance, customer experience, expense control, and loss‑cost management.

  • Expertise in regulatory compliance, coverage evaluation, claims investigation standards, and vendor/IA oversight.

  • Exceptional communication, executive presence, data‑driven decision‑making, and influence across matrixed organizations.

  • High emotional intelligence, resilience, and command presence with strong decision‑making in urgent or ambiguous situations.

Work Environment

  • Fast‑paced, dynamic environment with elevated responsibility during CAT events.

  • Travel required for conferences, site visits, and business reviews (~20%).
