About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Business Systems to lead the vision, roadmap, and evolution of our critical enterprise applications. Reporting to the VP of Business Systems and IT, this role will be instrumental in ensuring our core systems – primarily NetSuite, Salesforce, and Zendesk – not only meet current operational demands but are strategically positioned for hyper-growth and future scalability.

This leader will be a master of stakeholder engagement, adept at translating complex business challenges into clear system strategies and fostering a high-performing team capable of delivering transformative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Roadmap Ownership & Evolution:

    • Define, own, and continuously evolve the multi-year strategic roadmap for all core business systems (NetSuite, Salesforce, Zendesk, and their integrations), ensuring direct alignment with overarching company objectives, including revenue growth, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

    • Proactively identify emerging business needs, technological trends, and potential system constraints, translating them into actionable, forward-looking system initiatives.

    • Champion the long-term architectural integrity and scalability of our enterprise application landscape.

  • Exceptional Stakeholder Partnership & Influence:

    • Cultivate deep, trusted relationships with senior leadership (VPs and C-level) across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Customer Success, and IT, acting as a strategic thought partner and advisor.

    • Proactively engage stakeholders to understand their strategic priorities, gather critical requirements, and build consensus around complex system solutions and investment decisions.

    • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts and system capabilities into clear, compelling business value propositions for diverse audiences.

  • Team Leadership & Scalable Development:

    • Lead, mentor, and empower a high-performing team of Business Systems Analysts, Administrators, and Engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and innovation.

    • Strategically evolve the team's capabilities and structure for scale, including developing specialized expertise and building robust internal talent pipelines.

    • Implement best practices for system development lifecycle (SDLC), project management, and change management within the team to ensure efficient and high-quality delivery.

    • Drive talent acquisition and retention strategies, attracting top-tier systems professionals to support our growth trajectory.

  • System Optimization & Operational Excellence:

    • Oversee the comprehensive administration, enhancement, and continuous optimization of NetSuite (with a strong emphasis on inventory management, order-to-cash, and financial integrations), Salesforce (for revenue operations and sales enablement), and Zendesk (for customer service efficiency).

    • Drive initiatives to streamline end-to-end business processes through system automation and integration, significantly reducing manual effort and improving data integrity.

    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for system performance, reliability, and user adoption, providing executive-level reporting on system health and strategic impact.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Business Systems, with at least 3+ years in a strategic leadership role managing multiple teams or functions.

  • Demonstrated expertise in defining and executing system roadmaps that directly support aggressive business growth.

  • Proven ability to build, develop, and scale high-performing technical and functional teams, including experience managing managers or lead individual contributors.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills, with a track record of influencing strategic decisions and driving cross-functional alignment.

  • Functional and technical expertise in Business Systems delivery.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and how to design scalable, secure, and integrated business systems.

  • Experience in a high-growth tech environment

  • Expert-level project and program management skills, capable of overseeing multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.

  • Experience in the venture-backed/startup/tech space, with a track record of being agile.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience within a manufacturing or distribution context.

  • Deep technical expertise on Salesforce, Netsuite and/or Zendesk
