We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Business Development to lead our growth initiatives. This role will be instrumental in identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in driving revenue growth, building strong client relationships, and leading high-performing sales teams. This pivotal role entails cultivating a robust pipeline of prospective partners, with the objective of creating new business opportunities. The successful candidate will play a strategic role in shaping our market approach, necessitating the formation of a highly capable team of business development professionals.
As the leader of our OnTech Smart Business Development team, this role is responsible for executing our strategic business plan and driving growth through partnerships and multiple direct-to-consumer sales channels. As the leader of the OnTech Business Development team, you will lead a dedicated and cross-functional team in achieving revenue, profitability, and customer experience goals, and advancing OnTech's market position as a preeminent player in the Smart Home Service sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor and develop a high-performing sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and motivation
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the company's overall goals
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential opportunities and target clients
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities through proactive outreach, networking, and strategic partnerships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, tracking progress and forecasting revenue
- Lead the development of compelling proposals and presentations to win new business
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Drive revenue, profitability, and growth through new and existing partners
Skills, Experience and Requirements

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (Master's degree preferred)
- Proven ability to proactively seek out and close new business opportunities
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and exceeding expectations
- Strong understanding of sales methodologies and techniques
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Proficiency in CRM and sales enablement tools
- Extensive experience in Sales and Business Development, with a proven track record in closing large-scale partnerships
- Ability to work cross-functionally across large, distributed teams
- Strong leadership skills with experience in hiring, growing, and developing high-performing teams
- Ability to travel domestically up to 50%
Additional Considerations:
- Familiarity with or a strong interest in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications sectors, with an ability to quickly understand industry trends and evolving market dynamics
- Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, digital innovation, and the smart home ecosystem
- A proactive self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, resilience, and the ability to navigate ambiguity to deliver results in a high-growth environment
Salary Ranges
Compensation: $185,000.00/Year - $220,000.00/Year
