About eAccountable:
eAccountable is a trusted leader in digital marketing, specializing in driving growth for online retailers. For two decades, online retailers have partnered with us to increase revenue, acquire new customers, and build brand loyalty. Through an integrated multi-channel digital marketing approach, we have helped our clients across many industries recognize quick and extremely impressive results.

About the Opportunity:

The Director of Business Development, Marketplaces is responsible for finding and closing new clients for our Amazon and marketplace practice. This is a senior, client-facing new business role led through an Amazon-first lens, with Walmart, Target+, and other marketplaces as expansion layers. You will build the pipeline, lead the pitch, shape the proposal, and close the deal. You are not selling a single channel; you are selling the integrated way we run Amazon advertising, DSP, catalog, and marketplace strategy together, and you need the command to navigate what we can and cannot do in a client conversation.

What You'll Do:

Pipeline & Business Development

  • Reach out to an extensive contact list across e-commerce brands and PE-backed portfolio companies to introduce eAccountable's Amazon and marketplace offering
  • Proactively prospect in our core verticals, including health and beauty, home and outdoor, pet, and consumer packaged goods
  • Build and manage a pipeline through warm outreach, networking, and referrals
  • Drive marketplace-led opportunities, including standalone Amazon engagements and multi-marketplace expansion programs across Walmart, Target+, and TikTok Shop

Selling Integrated Programs

  • Position and sell integrated programs spanning advertising, DSP, catalog and content, and market intelligence, with a strong emphasis on profitability, share of voice, and ROAS
  • Conduct discovery calls and present tailored proposals that translate client goals, including share growth, profitability, and new marketplace launches, into integrated strategies
  • Collaborate internally on pitch decks and RFP responses, partnering with our channel leads on advertising, DSP, and catalog for scope and pricing, then handing off cleanly to delivery

Industry Presence & Thought Leadership

  • Attend Amazon and marketplace industry events and identify thought leadership opportunities that build our presence in Amazon advertising, DSP, and marketplace strategy
  • Represent eAccountable at key industry conferences, leveraging existing relationships and actively building new ones to expand our footprint in the Amazon seller and agency community

What You Bring:

Experience & Sales Track Record

  • 5+ years of business development, sales, or partnerships experience in a digital marketing or agency setting
  • A proven track record of closing net-new business against sales targets
  • Experience selling to CMOs and VPs of Marketing at e-commerce, DTC, and retail brands
  • Familiarity with Sandler, Challenger, or a similar sales methodology is a plus

Marketplace & Platform Expertise

  • Strong expertise in Amazon marketplace fundamentals, including Seller Central and Vendor Central models, advertising structures such as Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, and Sponsored Display, and DSP
  • Deep familiarity with Amazon ecosystem tools and platforms including Jungle Scout, Intentwise, Helium 10, and Pacvue, with a clear understanding of the nuances of each
  • Experience with Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC) and how attribution and audience insight extend beyond last-click advertising

Marketplace Expansion & Retail Media Knowledge

  • The ability to articulate the difference between Seller Central and Vendor Central models, and to position each correctly for a prospect's goals
  • Familiarity with adjacent marketplaces and retail media networks, including Walmart Connect, Target+, and TikTok Shop
  • An understanding of catalog, content, and creative strategy and their role in driving conversion and organic ranking
  • A working understanding of how DSP and off-Amazon media extend and amplify on-platform advertising

An Established Presence in the Amazon & Marketplace Industry

  • Willingness to travel 30-50% for industry events and client meetings as needed
  • You don't just attend Amazon industry events; you know the room. You walk into Prosper Show, Billion Dollar Seller Summit, or similar events with a full dance card and leave with new ones
  • A deep rolodex of contacts across agencies, brands, and marketplace platform partners that you can activate immediately for warm introductions and referrals
  • A reputation in the Amazon and marketplace community that opens doors before the first call is booked

Sales Approach

  • Strong consultative, relationship-first selling skills and a true hunter mindset
  • The judgment to qualify hard and walk away when the fit is wrong
  • Enough technical depth to speak with authority to clients and prospects and to scope accurately with our delivery teams. This is not a hands-on execution role, but you need to know the work

What We Offer:

  • Competitive compensation package: Base salary $100,000-$125,000 + variable compensation; OTE $140,000-$190,000
  • Flexible vacation policy – take the time you need to recharge
  • Comprehensive health, vision & dental insurance
  • 401k with company contribution
  • Beautiful downtown Denver office with company-paid commuter benefits (parking or RTD EcoPass)
  • Opportunity for career progression with plenty of room for personal growth

What to Expect:

  • 1st Round: 30-45 minute interview with the Recruiter
  • 2nd Round: 45-minute interview with the Hiring Manager
  • 3rd Round: 2 hours of onsite interviews with the Hiring Team

For local Denver applicants, please note that we are fully onsite work environment, and require daily presence at our LoDo/Union Station office. Denver-based candidates will be given top priority, but we will also consider remote candidates within the United States. We do not work with outside recruiting agencies.
