POSITION SUMMARY
Our team is looking for an energetic and dynamic Director, Business Development and Strategic Partnerships who will lead a team of business development professionals primarily responsible for supporting the creation and execution of Axiom Space business development objectives across all company verticals. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about customer service and excels at problem solving. The role requires strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Support Axiom executive leadership by developing processes and procedures to support efficient decision-making and exceptional efficiency in meeting the needs of customers and partners.
Manage U.S. space industry partnerships and business development activities.
Lead the formulation of business development/competitive strategy to identify new markets, compete within those markets, create new offerings and business lines, and develop strategic partnerships.
Integrate business strategies across Axiom programs and product offerings to ensure cohesive cross-company alignment with the corporate strategy.
Work with company leadership to develop, maintain, and grow revenue streams.
Work closely and collaboratively with international sales to establish long-term sales plans, pricing models (including seat pricing), and capture strategies for non-US opportunities.
Lead coordinated market analysis and competitive intelligence efforts to inform corporate and business strategy with the support of international sales, corporate, and program staff.
Establish priorities and acceptable parameters to guide sales in pursuing opportunities and leads.
Qualify sales-identified leads and opportunities for alignment with corporate strategy.
Structure capture pursuits by establishing pricing models, proposal development approaches, developing win themes, reviewing proposals, evaluating capture deliverables, and facilitating executive and investor decision gate reviews.
Supervise an integrated cross-functional business development and strategy team. Monitor team member metrics for alignment with Axiom strategic objectives and for successful execution of Axiom missions and product offerings.
Make staffing recommendations to the leadership team based on mission needs and budget trends.
Collaborate with program managers to generate estimates at completion (EACs) to meet profit goals, on-time deliverables, SOW requirements, and customer expectations.
Perform additional job duties as assigned

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, mathematics, or related field required
7 years’ experience in the space industry in business, finance, accounting or related fields
3-5 years’ experience negotiating and/or managing international government contracts
3-5 years’ experience with spaceflight missions strongly preferred
Track record of delivering outcomes in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
Uses good judgement to problem-solve positively impacting difficult challenges
Proven to deliver high quality results under tight deadlines

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task. Occasionally, this position may require travel domestically and/or internationally, up to 25%.
Requirements
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.
