Job Description Summary

Support and promote the sale of Transamerica products through retirement, estate and wealth planning strategies. Act as a consultant and liaison to the sales force and a business partner to their agents and brokers, by providing answers to specific questions and by communicating, identifying and closing sales opportunities. Act as a mentor, provide guidance and train other staff members and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the strategy and goals outlined by the Vice President of Advanced Markets.
  • Communicate retirement, estate, tax and other general financial planning concepts to wholesalers and their agents, over the phone, via webinar and in person, in order to promote the sale of Transamerica products.
  • Respond to and follow up on calls and emails from the field.
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities for department improvement; ensure the accuracy of information provided by the department.
  • Responsible for the oversight and completion of assigned duties within the department.
  • Identify sales opportunities and lead projects to support such opportunities.
  • Develop and deliver seminar presentations to a wide variety of audiences at locations nationwide.
  • Deliver presentations at industry and broker dealer conferences.
  • Serve as a liaison to the sales force, producers, operations, marketing and other professional advisors, external sales unit and/or business unit.
  • Communicate industry, department and sales updates to an assigned internal and external sales unit and/or business unit.
  • Function as the primary Advanced Markets point of contact for the assigned unit and responsible for maintaining the department's relationship with that unit.
  • Lead initiatives and oversee the development and completion of sales, marketing and training materials on Transamerica products and advanced sales strategies for a variety of markets and distribution channels.
  • Coordinate the training of producers, RVPs, IWs, other associates and Advanced Markets staff members on financial planning topics and the application of Transamerica products.
  • Manage projects and coordinate with Advanced Market staff members to complete projects.
  • Sets the example for Advanced Markets conduct, commitment and performance; assist the Vice President, Advanced Market with management of the department as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field.
  • FINRA Series 6 and 63 licenses
  • One or more of the following: JD, CFP, CLU, ChFC, CPA
  • Seven years of experience in retirement, estate, and wealth transfer planning.
  • In-depth knowledge in the use and taxation of variable annuities, mutual funds, life insurance and retirement plans.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Presentation skills with demonstrated experience in public speaking.
  • Relationship building and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a collegial environment.
  • Customer service oriented.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate tax degree such as LLM, MBT, or MST
  • FINRA Series 63 license
  • FINRA Series 7 to be completed in 6 months

Working Conditions

  • Remote environment.
  • Frequent travel (up to 40%).

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $126,000-$167,000 annually.  Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.

Additionally, this position is typically eligible for a 20% Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion. 

This position is also currently eligible for sales and/or performance incentives. Specifics will be reflected in individual incentive plan documents.
