The Digital Category Merchandiser is responsible for optimizing the online shopping experience by enhancing the product presentation to drive sales and profitability. You will collaborate with vendors, marketing and IT to develop best-in-class shopping experiences for select Waterworks and Geosynthetics centered categories. Using data analytics, you will curate a product assortment that is visually appealing and creates a user-friendly experience. The merchandiser will also be responsible for driving traffic through Marketing and SEO to their assigned categories.
This position is also responsible for achieving monthly revenue and profit goals for each of the assigned categories. They will work with all departments in the company to achieve financial goals by providing the right experience for our customers.
Location: This position may be remote or hybrid in accordance with company policy.
Responsibilities:- Conduct frequent competitive analyses and monitor daily/monthly/yearly sales and decide strategy based on the competitive landscape.
- Responsible for managing categories across multiple domains.
- Proactive iteration and merchandising optimization of brand(s) representation on site through data driven analysis
- Responsible for developing and driving brand pricing strategies, monitoring the competitive landscape, and ensuring optimal sell-through rates and margin performance.
- Ensure each category is profitable and meet their goals (Revenue$ and MGP$)
- Operate cross functionality with Category Management, Ops, Sales Associates, and Marketing to support brand(s) strategy and internal success
- Enhance customer's omnichannel shopping experience for categories managed through using merchandising tools to drive conversion and decreased bounce rates
- Develop a good understanding of our different customer segments to execute unique product strategies and campaigns to each group.
- Coordinates promotions and assists in fine tuning marketing initiatives for their assigned categories.
- Strategizes directly with our marketing teams to ensure brands are performing well and represented well in our marketing activities.
- Creates new landing pages and optimizes poor performing landing pages based on need shown by marketing data.
- Advises the work of the data team to ensure all product information is accurate for assigned categories.
- Responsible for understanding inventory, discontinuations, price changes, new product launches, etc. of assigned categories.
- Gap analysis to drive focus to underperforming areas.
- Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to data, vendor management, marketing and more.
- Weekly/monthly meetings with categories main point of contact to discuss strategy and performance.
- Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Business or related field or proven experience of 3+ years in eCommerce field required.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally across written formats, virtual meetings, and presentations, while operating independently.
- Product knowledge of Waterworks & Geosynthetics categories or manufacturers preferred.
- Proficient in current SEO and SEM standard methodologies
- Comfortable working in tools such as: Excel, Outlook, Salesforce, Google Analytics, Power BI and other merchandising tools.
- Familiar with conversion rates, return rates, marketing efficiency, AOV, and other digital commerce KPIs.
- Customer centered approach to sophisticated business/user problems.
- Experience using and analyzing data to drive business outcomes.
- Strong performance mentality to drive outcomes and results.
- Self-motivated with the ability to encourage and empower a multi-functional team.

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
