DevOps Engineer – Missile Warning System

Mission: Defend the U.S. with Innovative Missile Defense Solutions

Join Leidos in a critical role supporting national defense through cutting-edge missile warning and defense technologies. We're seeking a talented engineer to contribute to the development, testing, and deployment of mission-critical software at Cheyenne Mountain and Peterson SFB, CO. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact systems that integrate data fusion, predictive analytics, and decision support tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain software for missile defense systems

  • Support CI/CD automation through scripting and pipeline optimization (Jenkins, Bamboo)

  • Participate in agile sprint and increment testing to validate system functionality

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to document and communicate technical solutions

  • Integrate and execute testing plans across the software development lifecycle

  • Engage in agile ceremonies (scrum, retrospectives, planning) to provide feedback and guide team direction

  • Build and deploy solutions aligned with industry standards and best practices

  • Coordinate with Systems Engineering to schedule and demonstrate capabilities to customers

  • Partner with third-party contractors and stakeholders to manage regression testing and deployment timelines

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Development, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience (additional certifications or experience may substitute for education).

  • U.S. Citizen; Currently possess an active DoD Secret Clearance.

  • Proficiency in C++ and Python

  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo) and agile platforms (Jira)

  • Skilled in developing system tools and dashboards

  • Exceptional attention to detail and interpersonal communication abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in associated field

  • Experience with missile warning and defense systems

  • Knowledge of missile warning message types

  • Proven abilities with agile software development processes aligned with U.S. Government standards

Pay Range:Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
