The Role: 

Scorability is looking for a skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our scaling engineering team. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our software delivery and infrastructure management processes. You'll work collaboratively to automate deployment pipelines, optimize system performance, and ensure the reliability and scalability of our applications. Your expertise in continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), infrastructure as code (IAC), and cloud technologies will be instrumental in maintaining a streamlined and efficient software development lifecycle. What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline and automate software deployment and infrastructure management processes
  • Implement and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable software releases
  • Create and manage infrastructure as code (IAC) for cloud-based and on-premises environments, automating provisioning, configuration, and scaling
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively, ensuring high availability and optimal system responsiveness
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for tasks such as configuration management, monitoring, and system maintenance
  • Implement and maintain security best practices to protect data and systems, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability assessments
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement solutions that support application scalability, performance, and stability
  • Manage and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure resources and services
  • Conduct regular system backups, disaster recovery planning, and ensure data integrity and availability
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in DevOps and cloud computing, recommending and implementing modern best practices
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to system emergencies as needed

Experience we’re seeking:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 5+ years experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a track record of successfully implementing DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines at an early stage company at scale
  • Strong proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages, such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, or Python
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
  • Proficiency in version control systems such as Git, and familiarity with branching and merging strategies
  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms and services (AWS), and the ability to manage cloud-based infrastructure
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure networking, security, and best practices
  • Experience with monitoring and log management tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack) for system performance and error tracking
  • Familiarity with database management and administration, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Relevant certifications in DevOps, cloud platforms, or related areas (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are a plus
