Overall Purpose

This position will support with the design, development, testing and maintenance of infrastructure as code and containerized product applications.

Essential Functions

  • Contribute to the development life cycle including requirements analysis and design.

  • Support and document software functionality.

  • Analyze code and results from automated build and deployment jobs to find causes of errors and revise as needed.  Escalate complex issues or errors to Sr. level DevOps team members.

  • Participate in designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging new and existing configuration management (Chef and Ansible) and Infrastructure as code.

  • Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.

  • Consult with end user to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs.

  • Proactively monitors health of environment.

  • Prepare performance summary documents

  • Maintain inventory of infrastructure

  • Execute, produce and report test metrics

  • Participate in and follow change management processes.

  • Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation.

  • Support to UAT/production applications as needed.

  • Support the company’s commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and/or experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.

  • Minimum of 2 or more years prior DevOps, software engineering or related experience or one or more years of related internship experience and/or relevant certifications.

  • Must be able to work different schedules as part of an on-call rotation.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects and general understanding of software environments and network topologies

  • General understanding of Linux Administration (CentOS and/or RHEL)

  • Demonstrable technical design skills

  • Familiar with modern application design

  • Solid understanding of an iterative software development process

  • Ability to use Unix/Linux command line programs and create/edit scripts

  • Knowledge of one or more of the tools – Chef, Ansible, puppet.

  • Knowledge of one or more of the tools – IAC, Containerization and orchestration (Terraform, Docker & Kubernetes)

  • Knowledge of one of the cloud infrastructure providers – AWS, GCP and Azure

  • Background and drug screen.

Preferred

  • Typically aligns with a minimum of 2 or more years of related experience and/or specialized certifications.

  • One or more years of related internship experience

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.

Employee must be able to perform essential functions and physical requirements of position with or without reasonable accommodation.

The base pay scale for this position in:

Phoenix, AZ/ Chicago, IL in USD per hour is: $42.00/hr. - $46.00/hr. (salary equivalent $87,360/year - $95,680/year)

New York, NY/ San Francisco, CA in USD per hour is: $46.00/hr. - $54.00/hr. (salary equivalent $95,680/year - $112,320/year)

Additionally, candidates are eligible for a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.
