The Platform Analytics team is looking for a data-focused DevOps Engineer I to help build and scale the systems that power Rapid7's internal analytics. This role focuses on transporting and enabling access to high-volume telemetry data, supporting teams across the company in making informed, data-driven decisions. You'll work closely with product, engineering, and analytics teams to ensure data is reliable, accessible, and actionable.

About the Role
As a DevOps Engineer I, your primary responsibility will be to support our internal moose by seamlessly serving product usage data and maintaining self-hosted data solutions. While we expect you can come in and hit the ground running, you will have the opportunity to further broaden your skills surrounded by a team of incredibly smart and experienced senior engineers. Specifically, your focus will be to:
- Build, maintain, and release our well architected services by writing code and solving problems
- Participate in the design and planning of upcoming features, our Engineers are first class stakeholders in all parts of the development process
- When required, partner with internal teams such as UX and Product Management who work deeply with our product to ensure we are understanding our customers needs
- Work towards developing a deep understanding of our products in order to best support our customers
- Work with Practice specific technologies
The skills and qualities you'll bring include:
- 1-3 years experience in software development using Python
- Experience working with container technologies is required (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, etc) is required; Kubernetes is preferred
- Working knowledge of Terraform (IaC) is required
- Experience with common data engineering tooling such as Kafka, RDBMS tools, SQS, Lambda, etc (Spark is a plus)
- Cloud experience is required, AWS is a plus
- Experience with time series databases tools (Timescale, Influx, Timestream, etc) is a plus
- Foundational understanding of subnets, firewalls (security groups, ACL's, etc) and other system architecture concepts
- Excited by technology, curious and eager to learn

- Collaborative team player who has the ability to partner with others and work towards solutions
- Strong creative problem solving skills
