Job Description

Plan and conduct comprehensive applications/web development for complex projects; typically work as part of a team to implement complex business solutions. Perform expert coding: design, develop code at an expert level, and manage development projects, teams, programs. May manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The Developer - RPA works with the Robotics Process Automation (RPA) technology team and key stakeholders to create automated solutions for the business. As an RPA developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing intelligent automation solutions on a diverse range of projects. The developer would assess automation opportunities from a technical perspective and design/implement enterprise-grade solutions that are efficient, scalable, and maintainable. 

Job-Specific Responsibilities: 

  • Provide guidance with process design.
  • Design, develop, and test automation workflows.
  • Deploy RPA components including bots, robots, development tools, code repositories and logging tools.
  • Support the launch and implementation of RPA solutions.
  • Create process and end-user documentation.
  • Assure the quality of the automation (QA processes).
  • Work with Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, QA Analysts, Product Owners, and other cross-functional resources to define and deliver business impacting projects.
  • Work directly with stakeholders to capture business requirements and translate them into technical approaches and designs that can be implemented.
  • Collaborate with development team members to ensure proper implementation and integration of the solutions.
  • Support deployments or troubleshoot production issues as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies and business processes.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications are the minimum threshold a candidate must meet in order to be considered for this role.

    • Minimum of five years’ post-secondary education or relevant work experience

    Additional Qualifications and Skills:

    Required Essential Knowledge and Skills:

    • Hands on experience on UiPath RPA platform and tools
    • 2+ years’ experience in any of the programming languages like Python, VB Script, Java, .Net.
    • 2+ years’ experience in SQL and relational database.
    • Basic programming knowledge on HTML and JavaScript.
    • Able to design technical specification documents for RPA Projects.
    • Experience developing and consuming APIs.
    • Experience in programmatic handling of LLMs such ChatGPT.
    • Experience with Agile development methodology.
    • Knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
    • Understanding of workflow-based logic.
    • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
    • Superior time and project management skills.
    • Ability to present technical details to non-technical audiences.
    • Excellent problem solving/analytical skills and complex troubleshooting methods.

    Certificates and Licenses:

    • Completion of Harvard IT Academy specified foundational courses (or external equivalent) preferred.
    • UiPath RPA Developer certifications preferred.

    Additional Information

    Appointment End Date:

    • This is a fully benefited, full-time Harvard University position that has been funded through 6/30/27. There is the possibility of renewal, contingent upon your work performance meeting the needs of the department and the continued availability of funding designed to support the position.

    Standard Hours/Schedule: Monday-Friday

    This position can be fully remote or hybrid.

    • Travel to the campus may be required for important project events with advance notice.
    • Harvard employees must live and work from one of the following states; California, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, or Washington.
    • Relocation assistance is not available.

    Work Format Details

    This position has been determined by school or unit leaders that the duties and responsibilities can effectively be performed fully remotely at a non-Harvard location. Employees in fully remote positions must work all scheduled hours in a Harvard registered state in compliance with the University’s Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts. At the discretion of the department, fully remote employees may occasionally be required on site at a Harvard location. Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
