Runpod is the AI Developer Cloud. More than one million developers, from indie researchers to teams running frontier models in production, use Runpod to experiment, train, fine-tune, deploy, and scale AI on one platform. The platform has processed more than 20 billion inference requests. We closed a $100M Series A in June 2026. We're at an inflection point for AI infrastructure, and we're building the platform the next generation of developers will depend on. We're a small, remote-first team. We take ownership seriously, move fast, and ship work that more than a million developers rely on every day. We're looking for people who care deeply, build with urgency, and want to matter at scale.
Developer Relations (DevRel) is the practice of building trust with developers by meeting them where they are and helping them succeed with our product. It sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and marketing, but it isn't quite any of them: the work is technical enough to earn credibility, close enough to product to shape it, and public enough to grow in reach.
At Runpod, DevRel means being customer zero. We build and validate with the same tools and workflows as our developers, so our content, tooling, and advocacy are grounded in real usage rather than assumptions. That work runs in two directions: outward, through education, community, and content that helps developers build; and inward, feeding back into the product what we learn from developers.
We are seeking a Developer Relations Engineer who codes, develops developer tools and resources to simplify building on Runpod, and transforms hands-on platform experience into technical demos and content that helps developers succeed. You'll build on Runpod the way our developers do, then channel what you learn into everything you create.
This role will greatly influence Runpod's expansion. Developer Relations transforms a quality product into essential tools and resources for developers, with you at the heart of this effort. Every demo you craft, tool you deploy, and integration you develop accelerates onboarding, reduces obstacles, and encourages developers to stay with Runpod.
What makes this role unique is the sense of ownership. You're not just executing someone else's plan; you're developing it. You'll select which tools and resources to create, determine the priorities for integrations and frameworks, and shape the initial experience developers have with Runpod. When you identify onboarding issues or gaps that a new framework could address, you're empowered to build the solution independently, without needing approval.
Responsibilities:
Build tooling, extensions, and plugins that improve the developer experience on Runpod, and instrument them so the impact is measurable. Success means shipped tools with real adoption that reduce friction and drive downstream product usage.
Deliver talks at developer and AI developer conferences, and build relationships with organizers and attendees.
Spend time building as our users build, and surface any pain points and bugs you encounter along the way.
Design and run programs that scale our core pillars: content, events, and community, so impact compounds over time. Success means repeatable, durable systems rather than one-off efforts.
Show up consistently where developers are, build genuine relationships, and surface insights to Product and other relevant teams. Success means deep community presence that generates inbound interest and shapes product direction.
Requirements:
Experience writing code in Python, JavaScript, or Go
Experience as a software engineer
Technically credible, able to build and demo real things on the platform and hold a deep technical conversation without a script.
Experience creating technical content such as demos, docs, tutorials, or sample apps — for a developer audience
Track record of building integrations or contributing to open-source projects within an ecosystem (ML/AI frameworks, SDKs, tooling)
Comfortable working with high autonomy, identifying gaps or friction points and shipping fixes without waiting for direction
Familiarity with GPU compute, ML infrastructure, or AI engineering workflows
The ability to regularly attend events and conferences in person
Able to speak publicly on behalf of a developer facing product
Successful completion of a background check
Preferred:
A strong written voice, with recaps and posts that make people who weren't in the room feel like they missed something
The ability to create videos with a high level of technical depth
Familiarity with AI libraries and frameworks, agent frameworks, or ML infrastructure and GPU workloads
