Community is a cornerstone of Bungie games. We are looking for someone to lead our Destiny 2 Community team to build strong relationships between our players and teams at Bungie. The Global Community Lead works closely with Franchise Marketing, publishing teams, industry partners, and the development team to support our direct to player communications as well as share player experiences and feedback that helps to inform and add perspective to our creative processes.

This role requires strong leadership, communication skills, and professionalism as you will help develop communication strategies on how to keep our community informed of all the exciting developments coming to the Destiny 2 live game. Good communication is a two-way street, you will also be building and maintaining processes for how to digest and document feedback from millions of players and deliver it to stakeholders across Bungie.

Always thinking about the future, this candidate must have strong opinions, loosely held, on trends and where channels, community, and the industry are heading. This role craves innovation and isn’t afraid to try risky initiatives in service of our player base. Proficient in both reactive and live settings, this person educates and motivates their peers to do the same.

This role reports to the Principal Community Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with developers as a community expert to help the team explore opportunities to improve the player experience and respond to player feedback.
  • Manage and mentor other members of the community team.
  • Collaborate with Technical Community Managers to identify and address player-facing issues.
  • Coordinate with other marketing leads to support and amplify the release of official Destiny 2 marketing assets and global campaigns
  • Create messaging that can resonate to audiences globally as well as collaborate and support the International Publishing team on regional-specific projects and activations.
  • Represent and include the community team in internal conversations to represent the player base and offer community-informed input on how to enhance the player experience.
  • Deliver data informed and anecdotal reports on sentiment and trending community conversations to internal stakeholders and present findings to studio leadership.
  • Create and manage processes for community team to source, analyze, and organize player feedback for internal distribution.
  • Respond and engage with the community in a timely, empathetic, and professional manner
  • Coordinate with trust and safety teams to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for our player community to thrive.
  • Creates presentations and reporting to represent player trends narratives in live operations meeting with Development and Franchise Leadership.
  • Draft relevant communications to educate, inform, and celebrate the community.
  • Oversee planning of community driven campaigns, competitions, including livestreams, Q&A sessions, short form video, and more

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 7+ years of industry experience managing a passionate gaming community.
  • Experience leading a team or managing others.
  • Excellence in written and verbal communication for both public facing and internal communications.
  • Flexibility with scheduling to accommodate international collaboration across many time zones.
  • Strong insights for building and structuring online interactions in a professional, team-oriented way.
  • Ability to create data informed reports on sentiment and utilize social listening tooling.
  • Proven track record and enthusiasm for enabling and measuring proactive and reactive public conversations in a live game service environment.
  • Familiarity with the Destiny Community

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Writing
  • Deep familiarity with video games industry and live service games, MMO, FPS, etc.
  • Some familiarity with Bungie as a studio and its past adventures
  • Comfortable hosting or being on camera

Listed below is this role's base pay range. In other locations that Bungie has approved for remote work, this pay range may be adjusted up to +/- 10% and some roles may be classified as non-exempt (hourly). 
This range is determined by an array of factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Additionally, it is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Bellevue Pay Range

$119,000$143,000 USD

Most Bungie full-time employees will adopt a digital first approach allowing remote work in Bungie approved locations (outside of positions identified as 100% onsite in Bellevue/Seattle, or individuals preferring a hybrid/flex environment). Prospective full-time employees who are located outside of a Bungie approved state will need to establish residency in an approved state within 45 days of their start date. Contractors will follow a digital first approach adhering to the location guidelines agreed upon by our third-party employer/vendor and Bungie. Bungie’s remote policy is subject to change at the company’s discretion.
