ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Desktop Services Engineer will be responsible for administering and operating the IT tools that support user devices (desktops, laptops, mobile devices) across all lines of business within Apex Fintech Solutions. They will manage imaging and deployment of laptops and desktops, provisioning of Virtualized Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and Mobile Device Management technologies, providing essential support to enable a seamless IT experience for day-to-day operations across the firm. 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate imaging and deployment of both MacOS and Windows devices 

  • Support MDM operations via InTune for end-user devices and BYOD mobile phones 

  • Administer VOIP phone systems including SaaS softphone services and physical desk phones 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve user device issues escalated from the IT User Service team 

  • Manage the deployment and use of virtualized desktop infrastructure 

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field (or equivalent work experience) required

  • 5+ years of experience supporting and troubleshooting user devices and services.  

  • Demonstrated experience working with InTune, Automox, and Kandji 

  • Experience working with VDI solutions such as Workspot and Azure Virtual Desktop 

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and the ability to localize failures within distributed systems 

  • Strong customer service skills and the passion to work through obstacles to produce results and provide an outstanding customer experience 

  • Willingness to learn and to adapt to change, strong motivation to learn new tools and frameworks quickly 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clear and accessible documentation, FAQs, and user guides
