Responsibilities
Design across platforms:
Develop and uphold the Yahoo News design ethos and creative standards, integrating Yahoo’s new brand guidelines into all deliverables.
Create editorial designs for Yahoo News, Entertainment, Life, Commerce, Newsletters and Social.
Provide creative for breaking and trending stories.
Design social media content, focusing on carousels and franchise formats.
Contribute to holiday commerce events (e.g., Black Friday, Cyber Monday).
Design editorial packages for sponsored/branded initiatives.
Help guide how the new Yahoo brand guidelines are creatively applied across editorial and marketing content.
Collaboration and communication:
Work with art directors, photo editors, creative directors, and project managers to align designs with project goals.
Adapt quickly to last-minute design requests.
Provide clear updates on timelines and feedback.
Collaborate with the team to explore how the new brand guidelines enhance our work.
Occasionally guide junior designers.
Efficiency and innovation:
Create and maintain easy-to-use design templates for editors.
Research design trends and experiment with new styles and tools.
Stay updated on emerging design technology to enhance the team’s capabilities.
Help identify opportunities for creative innovation within the framework of Yahoo’s refreshed brand identity.
Qualifications
Strong portfolio demonstrating design and illustration skills.
Experience applying or interpreting brand guidelines in creative work.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
Experience collaborating in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Proficiency in design tools and familiarity with emerging trends.

The compensation for this position ranges from $96,000.00 - $200,000.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
