Our mission is to automate how humans learn and acquire skills. The first step in our journey is to build the AI stack for education to transform the credentialing and publishing industries with the best tools to build curricula, assessments, and apps at scale.
After winning #1 (of 1,500) in the Vercel AI Accelerator we bootstrapped to millions in revenue and profitability while delivering over 200MM assessments via our AI platform. We also just closed our first strategic investment to scale faster and deploy our solution to millions of additional learners.
We’re a lean, talented team that rewards agency, curiosity, and shipping real products that directly impact the lives of millions.
"Memorang has literally the best gen AI results I've seen applied to a real world problem."
Director of Trust and Safety, Google Deepmind
We're looking for a Design Engineer who lives at the intersection of design and code. You'll work directly with the founding team to prototype, build, and polish the platform experiences that power Memorang. This role is perfect for someone who thinks like a designer but builds like an engineer - or vice versa.
You'll own the UI layer of our AI platform: agent builders, knowledge graph editors, HITL evaluation tools, and collaborative authoring workflows. Your work shapes how humans and AI collaborate to build education from scratch - knowledge graphs → agents → apps.
🛠️ Sample projects could include…Building a visual agent builder where users compose tutoring workflows from modular components - drag-and-drop canvas, node connections, and live preview.
Designing the parallel agent management interface - monitoring multiple agents running simultaneously, with status indicators, logs, and intervention controls.
Creating collaborative editing experiences for knowledge graphs - real-time cursors, conflict resolution, and multiplayer annotation.
Prototyping copilot interfaces that surface AI suggestions inline during content authoring, with accept/reject/edit interactions.
Building HITL evaluation tools where SMEs review AI-generated content, provide structured feedback, and trigger auto-fix loops.
Designing data annotation workflows with efficient keyboard shortcuts, bulk actions, and quality metrics dashboards.
Are equally comfortable in Figma and your code editor.
Have strong front-end engineering skills (TypeScript, React, Next.js, Tailwind).
Have shipped collaborative or real-time interfaces (editors, canvases, annotation tools).
Think in systems and can build reusable component frameworks that scale.
Are excited about human-AI collaboration and designing interfaces where both work together
Experience building workflow editors, canvas-based tools, or node graph interfaces.
Background in design or formal design training.
Familiarity with real-time collaboration patterns (CRDTs, multiplayer).
Have been a founder or founding team member at a startup.
