Position Responsibilities:
- Define and manage system requirements and interfaces for system-of-systems mission integration across sensors, mission management functions, communications, and weapons/payload interfaces.
- Architect and document end-to-end mission system integrations, including system interdependencies, data flows, timing budgets, synchronization, and operational constraints.
- Develop and maintain SysML/MBSE artifacts that describe system architecture, functional decomposition, interface behavior, requirement traceability, and verification mapping.
- Support integration of onboard and offboard systems, including distributed sensors, datalinks, external mission services, and partner-provided capabilities.
- Develop and evaluate mission system logic related to sensor integration, track management, mission planning, state awareness, decision support, and effect coordination.
- Analyze failure modes, sensitivity, and robustness; define fault detection, degradation, and recovery behaviors for mission-critical, multi-system architectures.
- Produce concise technical documentation supporting design decisions, model assumptions, verification results, integration artifacts, and compliance/safety evidence.
- Communicate technical tradeoffs, risks, and recommended paths forward to leadership, customers, and cross-functional partners.
- Own assigned capabilities end-to-end, from requirements through architecture modeling, prototype, integration, verification, optimization, deployment, and sustainment.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to reusable patterns, standards, and integration best practices.
- Support demonstrations, technical reviews, and program execution as a key contributor to the team.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience and a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of related work experience and technical education
- Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience and a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of related work experience and technical education
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
- Experience applying SysML and MBSE to system-of-systems, tactical mission systems, embedded systems, or platform integration.
- Demonstrated experience with MBSE and SysML, including creating or maintaining system architecture models, requirements relationships, and behavioral definitions.
- Experience integrating or characterizing mission systems on tactical platforms.
- Familiarity with embedded deployment, real-time scheduling, and latency analysis.
- Knowledge of mission data standards, interface management, or subsystem interoperability practices.
- Prior experience supporting technical reviews, customer demonstrations, or operational assessments.
- MSOSA experience is preferred, if applicable to the team's MBSE tooling/processes.
