Job Title

Department ManagerResponsible for managing the day-to-day work of a single large or multiple small department(s) (depending on size of plant). Involved in the production of high quality ceramic products, including directing the activities of workers, monitoring departmental headcount and budget, and ensuring product meets quality and on-time delivery requirements. Lead and encourage a collaborative team environment dedicated to meeting departmental goals and objectives.

• Oversee the work of assigned department(s) with supervisors/leads reporting to them; highest level of employee supervised is either hourly or exempt level supervisors.
• Set direction and priorities based on business strategy.
• Responsible for the unit/department budgets, schedules, and planning.
• Lead, coach and provide effective feedback.
• Train, assign duties, and supervise employees engaged in production.
• Support and create effective teams, units, and environments.
• Impact and promote organizational strategy and vision.
• Help employees understand how they impact business strategy.
• Complete objectives through supervisors or exempt specialists who have significant latitude.
• Meet or exceed quality standards; seek to minimize error rate.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts. Support and help to implement new ideas.
• May be responsible for multiple shifts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
• Minimum five years’ prior supervisory experience preferred.
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
• Possess the ability to use the computer system for departmental functions.
• Perform detail-oriented tasks utilizing high language and math skills.

Target Hiring Range

Annual Salary: USD 101,020.00 - USD 133,346.00
