Position Overview
The Demand Planner is a key contributor within the Supply Chain team, responsible for developing accurate item-level demand forecasts through data analysis, collaboration, and strategic planning. This role ensures alignment across Sales, Product Management, Marketing, and Operations to support inventory planning, service levels, and overall business performance. The ideal candidate brings a proactive mindset and a strong grasp of demand planning best practices to help drive forecasting accuracy and process efficiency.
What you'll do
- Perform weekly and monthly demand planning activities to support the Product Review and Demand Agreement steps of the S&OP process
- Maintain and refine an 18-month forecast at the PMAT level for assigned product lines
- Analyze forecast vs. actual demand trends to identify variances, root causes, and improvements
- Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, and Marketing to integrate promotional volume and placement changes
- Document forecast assumptions, adjustments, and promotional inputs from key stakeholders
- Facilitate monthly Demand Agreement Meetings with cross-functional teams
- Present demand performance insights and future plans in S&OP meetings
- Partner with Supply Chain and Operations teams to communicate demand shifts and promotional impacts
- All other duties as assigned
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in demand planning or a similar supply chain function
- APICS or relevant supply chain certification (CPIM, CSCP, PMP, etc.) preferred
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with experience using forecasting metrics (e.g., WMAPE, forecast bias)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools; ERP systems experience (SAP ECC, APO, BW) preferred
- Familiarity with consumer goods industry trends and seasonality
- Understanding of Bill of Materials (BOMs) and Super BOMs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks
- Adaptable, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement
